Could I point out that CCP has an actual qualified economist on staff?
This is an absolutely ridiculous idea.
NPC bounty is one of the means by which new money is minted in EVE, and buying things from NPCs is one of the ways in which it is removed.
Think about it like this... here is a weird, but fitting analogy for you.
We all drink water.... and then we sweat or pee it out (we also exhale a lot but that's besides the point.)
When we are little baby people, we drink only a little, we retain a certain amount in our body, and we get rid of it about the same rate we take it in.
As we grow, we take more in, get rid of more, and have more in us at any one time.
If we become nice and big and fat, we'll have a lot more water in us at any one time than we would if we were leaner and meaner... (Big and fat meaning a super duper economy, just in case the weird analogy was losing anybody)
Anyway. If you reduce the amount you drink (removing NPC bounty for example) you'll dehydrate yourself... your body will struggle to carry out its normal functions (stifled economy) with a reduced amount of water. (and you'll have less going out.. skill prices don't change, but if the value of the ISK starts to rise dramatically as it would if you had less coming in, skills would become drastically more expensive in real terms.)
It's an odd analogy I know.. but I think it works.

There has been deflation in many things, particularly the T2 market (t1 went down too)
Which means currently my money buys a LOT more crap!!
There was inflation in some stuff, some faction ships, mods and so on, but overall its gone down HARD.
For example, Cerberus were up to 200mil+, now you get one for 80mil

For T2, with the invention, it is really hard to compare... But, yes, T1 stuff isn't more expensive than it was before.
And ccp's economist looked at all incomes and the amount of isk it created and the sinks and the fact that people dont spend it all...
If something goes wrong, he will point it out. By the way, he already said that the shuttles were too cheap considering the tritanium prices lately.
Anyway, every change pushed the prices in a way, and then people go to stick on the more profitable, if minerals raise, people will mine. If it lowers, people will do something else. If you think that something you can get yourself is too expensive, do it yourself! It's mainly true for low end minerals, everyone can mine them. -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast !

Wrong. Hyperinflation or hyperdeflation would suck from a gameplay perspective. Imagine earning 100 mil to buy a hulk, but you gotta log off before making the 8 jumps to go get it. Next day, the price is 150 mil.

If there is a way to make it work, a financial system similar to classic battletech might be fun.

I have a better idea.
Remove all loot and isk from the game, this way there can be no inflation or deflation.

actually their would be.. until no body had any isk left that is, and every one would have to make everything they use them self since their would be no point to give away free stuff and their would be no currency to pay for it*s
or people would only be able to trade if they had what the other guy wanted.. but highly unlikely in most cases.
