Don't know if this is a minor breakthrough...
I've found that if I open 2 clients at the same time and then set one client's affinity to CPU 0 and the second client's affinity to CPU 1 plus set both client's priority to "Above normal", I can play for hours without any crashes whatsoever. I'm running an Intel E6600 so this crashing issue might have something to do with CCP's threading model?
Also another thing to note is that by minimizing one client, you can boost the performance of your other client. I know this can be a pain but at least it's a viable workaround until CCP gets around to optimizing the client.

This has been a terrible experience and i dont even get new graphics. why cant it just work same as old game did :( hope it gets sorted soon. along with all the other terrible bugs. NO MORE NEW CONTENT ONLY FIXS>> lag especially.

Edited by: Bom Bolenath on 14/12/2007 17:11:39 hey R3D or Harkus,
Would you mind refreshing me on how to set application affinities as mentioned above?
Also, anyone with Vista tried XP SP2 compatibility mode as a work-around? I'm basically able to multi-client as pre-Trinity by turning premium content off, but eve classic does seem a bit unstable. Had a number of white screen eve crashes since patch while running in Trinity classic.
Sure hope the fix is on the way. Suppose selling off alt accounts is an option, though.
Bom!

Edited by: Harkus on 14/12/2007 17:42:24 You can set affinity by punching up the task manager, click on the "Processes" tab then right clicking on "evefile.exe". You'll also be able to set process priority that way too.
As for running in compatibility mode, yes, I've tried that and no go...
Note: I'm not running EVE classic. I'm running the premium content version.
