Once in every two or three loads, I am unable to type any characters into the ACCOUNT or PASSWORD field once the client has loaded. I can select the account names from the drop down box, but unable to type into either fields. I can click in them, but it doesn't even seem to put the cursor in there - though the mouse does change it's state to show that the field is indeed capable of takeing input.
I am running Trinity on a beefy Vista machine with all the bells and whistles in terms of Eve's settings. After two or three re-loads, I can enter my details and log in fine.
Anyone else experience this (I did notice some similar threads for Linux but I am using Vista)?

I'm running XP Media Centre and have this problem.
I thought the problem was with the eve client as I rebooted and the issue was still there. I re-installed the client and everything seemed ok. Then I tried to start eve this morning and the problem came back. I un-installed and re-installed the client and the problem was still there!!!!
So what exactly in the cache could be causing this if I am doing a fresh install?! The cache folder was deleted after the un-install (I verified this in Documents and Settings etc)
I've tried eve 3 times now and it would accept keyboard entry on the 3rd attempt without resetting anything.

hello,
I am having the same trouble on my PC at work, it's running windows XP 32 . It's like my keyboard has been deactivated yet I can copy and paste into the username and password fields using my mouse 'right click'.
I'm performing my 3rd install also as i type this, i'll try and clear the cache as mentioned.

Same problem here, won't take any keypresses. Although copy / pasting the password in works, I still can't use any keyboard entry, and even goes as far to the close / minimize button being missing from the top right of dialog windows in-game.

I'm having the same problem too. I'm told that it is caused by 'network issues' on the user's end that cause the disabling of the keyboard because the game is unable to connect to http://api.eve-online.com:80 or somesuch.
The stupid game was working this morning, which makes this problem hella annoying.

So i have managed to get mine working now, I have 3 Network cards running and conencted on my computer, i simply disabled 2 of my network lines (Curriculum & Admin) and kept my ADSL line running only, it now gives me access to my keyboard! \o/ . Perhaps the other network devices are interfearing .

Can you dudes give me/us some background info on what your system is running? For example - multiple networks, firewalls.
Are you running the windows XP firewall that comes with sp2? or do you have a different one? Have the reservations been set for Eve?
Cheers,
Aur.

Comforting to know it's just me. Not comforting to not know how to correct it.

I had this problem as well a few nights ago, it always happened when trying to log in a second account.
Eventually resolved the problem by closing the active account so there were no eve clients running, then started again and it seemed fine.

Running via my Vigor router (built in firewall + windows XP firewall) or via my "3" USB wireless broadband (windows XP firewall) I get this problem.
I've always been able to get in after a few attempts (max 3)

I had this problem for the first time today. I actually nearly threw my laptop at the wall. Copy/paste still works though, so at least you can log in if you paste your account details in the fields. However, you're still unable to type in-game. Annoying.
Oh, and I'm also using the 3 wireless modem. Works great most of the time, except today, when I also lost the ability to view web pages, but not the ability to play Eve. go figure. ---------------

I have the same problem. It's just another beta bug. Well done to CCP, they really have learned from EA's worthless releases. Where are the 500+MB patches to fix the bugs which shouldn't exist CCP?

I've found that I can right click with the mouse to paste the password in, which lets me at least login. There after it varies between the keyboard being totally unresponsive and waking back up again.

It has been stated that this issue comes from the startup-process not connecting to api.eve-online.com. The devs know about it - and the issue is officially listet. So we have to wait until it get's fixed.

I have experenced the same thing. 2 clients on 1 PC, one online and playing, other cant type pass into box, web pages not loading. Bit-torrent client DL/UL at normal rates on a seperat computer. closed torrent, everything worked fine. Reloaded the torrent client, webpages and ablity to log in gone. I did restart my router and it was good for a day, but I also changed the MAC address so cant be 100% sure. If its not your ISP shaping your network activity, it could be a router issue if your using torrents.
Its a network issue as been stated before, but theres something else going on here, EvE is just a symptom.

I am having the same problem on a dell laptop with XP. ATI mobility. I have problems with eve since the trinity patch and had to reinstall numerous times. This is a new problem for me and while i worked out that i could cut and paste my password and get in game; I still had other issues like not being able to type. Not bing able to split stacks and type a number, not being able to close my character sheet, nor being able to then hit the ESC button. Yes I do expect to be able to play the game I pay for even after 4 years of playing...I love the gamebut I am about ready to give upon the repeated technical problems ccp introduces.
I guess you can say I am not a trinity fan.
