Hi, I have been out and about for almost 7 days now! So far I have been skiming through belts in >.5 using rats to practice tackling in my Kestral. There are alot of miners leaving wrecks around with some good loot inside(at least to me).
When I loot the wrecks how does the owner get notified? Lots of wrecks are in empty belts, the owner has moved on. How does the owner know I took his stuff? My thought is that the owner and I need be in the same place, show up together in the overview before I start flashing to him?
Thanks

He won't know unless he sees you... then you'll be blinky red.

Edited by: Sin Fae on 11/12/2007 00:07:35 What Kruel said with a bit more info:
-You will flash red to him for 15 min. In that time he COULD attack you without being Concorded wherever you are. -If he is in a player CORP any of his CORP mates can freely attack you also (you appear flashy red to them too) -If he is in a nOOb corp (empire corp) you will be flashy red only to him NOT the entire noob corp)
- If you are wondering whos can/wreck it is right click and get info on it, it will show who the "owner" is. Be wary - some unscrupoulous characters have been known to wait in ambush and blast you the second you flip or take something from it.

Thanks to both of you for the input. The whole player corp having kill rights is good to know. No one has taken a shot at me yet, but I can hope
Cheers

stealing loot is the best. one time i was going around a 0.6 salvaging and looting when i came across a barge. i started salvaging cause you don't get aggro for salvage, only when you loot. so i get a message: you don't have the skills required or somethin. i look. its a dread guristas wreck. look inside; t2 implant and faction ammo. i take it and warp to a planet. wait 15mins fly back to the belt to look for more. there wasn't, but i had like 70mil worth of loot.
moral of story; check your wrecks, and steal other people's who think high sec rats don't drop anything good.
that was the week i stole 400mil worth of stuff.... not going into details ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

just double checking something here as far as trinity, can theft will not trigger either a red global aggression timer or a yellow corp timer on either your screen or theirs?
the only indicator is overview? ___ Eve Players are not very smart. Support Killmail Overhaul

They'll get kill rights on you if you loot their kill but most won't care. Just be careful when approaching because most will thing that you're their to flip their can and will kill you if they think you're flashing red because you've just done that. --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stealing from cans and wrecks.
1) The person who owns the can or wreck will get no messages that indicate someone has stolen from him, only the red flash indicator in the overview.
2) If the person you stole from is in a player corp, they recieve no message that a theft has found place, other than the red flash in the overview. You will be free game for anyone in his corp.
3) You, as the thief, recieve a warning when you are about to steal (popup box, unless ticked to not show again), and you will recieve an indication at the top left of your screen where it will say, in yellow text, that you are aggression flagged. Placing pointer over the yellow text will display which person and which, if any, player corp you are flagged towards.
4) Someone in the same gang as the person you steal from, but not in his Corp, will not recieve any indication that a theft has found place, and they will NOT see you as blinking red in overview. In short, being in same gang, but not in same corp, does not allow you to assist your friend if someone stole from him.
5) Someone in the same gang, but not in the same Corp, can use assist-modules on their friend, such as remote armor repair, cap transfer and so forth. This will NOT allow them to engage you, nor allow you to engage them. However, if the person you stole from starts to attack you, he will begin to flash red, indicating that you are now allowed to defend yourself without Concord killing you. If his friend, at that point, assists with cap transfers or remote repairs and so forth, this will NOT allow him to attack you, but it will allow you to attack HIM.
Hope that clarifies things somewhat. -------------------------------------------------- "Every complex problem has a solution which is easy, neat and wrong!" |

Edited by: Lagerstars on 11/12/2007 14:17:41 There is an option in the overview settings that turns on a redbox with a skull in it - if someone robs from a wreck (or any other criminal activity eg. sec status below -5 in a 0.5 sys etc) they will see that person with this icon next to there name in local.
Handy if you know you have left something somewhere and you see it appear against someone. -----------------------------------------
