The old Neocomm was rather clunky but I liked the old station UI better.

The old one looks pretty nifty, I do like.
Main thing I don't like about the current is when you open a can when you first log and it takes up virtually all the screen . Not too good when you have rats about.

The old UI was, well, hum, too compact ;)
But the station UI in beta was nice because they don't have big USELESS logo takin 1/3 of your screen. Nice links (updated 20 Dec 04): BP, bugs about them. (\_/) (O.o) (> <) This is Bunny. Copy Bunny into your signature to help him on his way. |

Quote: The new UI is better. Way better. But it would be nice to have a lock modifier (press a key down, and simply clicking something inflight would lock it).

The old GUI looks so much better and so much less graphically intensive.

New UI looks better.
Anything to the left and right of the main UI thingy on the bottom of the screen. It all gets shadowed by my chat windows and scanners, ect.
You can left-click objects in-space or on your scanners. And then in-space there will be a new box around that object you left-clicked. So there should be a hotkey (user-defined) that targets whatever the box is around. No more right-click menu for targeting, you just left-click the object and press Ctrl+Z to target it.
piece of cake.

That old beta UI is much more user friendly.
Something EVE is sorely lacking in, user friendly interface.

I'm a big fan of the current UI. I paticularly like the context sensitive right click menus.
It's amazing the UI isn't more invasive considering the sheer number of commands and information that you have access to at any one time.
If I could change anything about the current UI it would be the addition of more "Warp to" commands. I would welcome the ability to right click on any destination and "warp to" it. I'm always suprised it's missing from the agents list.
When you compare it to the UI for X2 The Threat or (god forbid) the BattleCruiser games you really get an appreciation for how good Eve's UI is.

I'd just like an option to turn off all the fancy shading crap - it's no coincidence that you gain 10-15fps just by removing the GUI.

Agreed, just a flat 2d version would be nice
