So I was just plinking around with EFT and the new Torp changes, and I was trying to figure out how this is meant to be tanked. Shield buffer (that fits, but barely) or Active (was unable to make it fit).
I am working on a gang fit, and I am really struggling with how to make it fit 6 siege launchers and still tank. What kinda setups are you guys using/looking at? I will add the setups I am working on momentarily, once I figure out how to make it all fit without faction :-/

For gang work: 6x siege launchers, 1x offlined medium remote rep, 1x offlined salvager
1x quad lif MWD 1x Painter 2x LSE II 2x Invul II
3x BCU, 1x DCU, 1x PDU 3x Shield hp rig
DPS is really high(around 1200 IIRC), effective hp in the neighborhood of 120k or so, for solo work take off an invul for a scram and replace the painter with a webber, then swap out some drones for heavy painter drones.
The offlined modules is so you can overheat your launchers for extra dps, with 2 offline modules you can actually overheat for quite some time. And you can online them after the fight to salvage/rep gangmates/whatever.

Can you please explain your calculations please, I can't see how you can get anywhere near 1200 DPS unless you use all t2 mods, all lvl 5 skills and overload.

All T2 is pretty standard. All L5 is not. Torp Spec 4 would be more sensible for the sake of comparisons. And how many train Rapid fire / warheads to L5, I wonder? Maybe when I'm 2 years old, if torps are still viable then.

Rapid launch? 8 days for 3% extra dps? In the blink of an eye. Compare it to Surgical Strike which is twice as long and still pretty standard to level 5 - and it gives LESS bonus?
Warhead Upgrades is a better question however. Obvious level 4, but not sure about spending another 20 days for 1.8% extra dps. Decent but not top priority.

i started useing this setup on test as soon as the torp changes came:
6x siege
3x lse, mwd, painter, invul
3x bcu, dcu, istab (get mwd speed up, whit new agility its freaking cool :) )
3x extender rigs or 2x extener rigs and 1 em rig ---------------------------------- Seems that there's a new game that seems to be very popular whit whiners these days. Its called EFT Online.

Even with max skills and Rage Torps, top DPS on the new raven is ~1050. With some faction stuff you might be able to get that to 1100, I suppose, and all that is without drones. So, without drones, 1200 isn't really possible. With: I suppose it's about right. |

1 x Quad Lif 100MN MWD 1 x X5 Webber 1 x Warp Disrupter II 2 x Target Painter (best named) 1 x Heavy Cap Injecter II (800's loaded)
2 x 1600mm rolled Tungsten 1 x EANM II 1 x DCU II 1 x BCU II
med ECM drones and small combat drones in bay.
3 x PG rigs (ancilliary current router???)
Thats the setup for 2 players with the same fitting. If you have 3 people everyone can drop a target painter in favour of something else eg sensor booster with lock script etcetc. Also if you like you can drop the EANM or DCU for another BCU.
Sidenotes and Tactics: No it is not blasphemy to fit a mwd to a raven. It works well and people dont expect it which gives you some oppertunities you might not normally get. MWD to target. Scram. Web. Paint. Destroy. Try and stay within 8km of as many of your wingmen as possible as they are your tank. Combine all your ECM drones on targets your currently not shooting. Laugh manaically as Cruisers, BC, CS and BC just melt as long as you are wise with your ammo choice.

This fit looks incredibly sexy in a spidertank gang and I was thinking along the same lines of dropping a painter when you have multiple painters in gang. I'm thinking probably ECCM, so they don't break your spidertank too badly with a Falcon on-grid. ~~~

How does having absolutely no tank or damage absorbing ability = win?
with 100k effective shields and signiture the size of a planet, I pretty sure any ship within 1 LY will be able to slap you.
Fair enough the Raven is now got one hell of a punch increase but its punishment taking just took a huge step backwards.
I will hold judgement till the initial figures are in, for now I think its safe to assume the raven just became the rogue of evecraft.
Excuse the comparison.

does anybody know if the "hydraulic bay thrusters" and the "rocket fuel cache partition" rigs work with torps ? eft says they do, but when i tried the hydraulic bay thruster, i got no influence on the torp-attributes.
on the other hand i think that the ZML100-implant works, although it also doesn t change the torp-info. |

I'd say yes. 2x TP means rage torps become more viable - not _much_ more damage vs. battleship sized targets, but still some.
Also it means that 'normal'/javelin torps are far more viable against sub-BS sized targets - 82% signature increase means 82% damage increase on anything less than about 250m sig. (And pushes it up to full damage/rage torp viable on anything larger).
Of course, speed does then become a factor, but ... even if they're getting damage reduction due to speed, you're _still_ doing a lot more damage (It just might still not be very much) -- Crane needs more grid 249km locking? GMP and TNP |

I know the HBT works with torps. I was able to extend the range on my Widow on SiSi up to 26km with torps with only 1 HBT. Before, it was sitting at 15-16km... around that anyway.
In regards to the Rocket Fuel Cache Partition, I have no idea. I felt that speed was better than flight time. _______________________ CEO of Domini Umbrus

Are you stupid? How is 120k effective hp not a decent buffer? Thats more than the plated megathron gets, and the mega has to get within 5km to do full damage. Jovienus you've never pvped in your life have you?
The 1200 dps is with drones, with overheat you can hit around 1300 dps(warhead upgrades 5 and torp spec 5 not withstanding), and with 2 offlined modules you can overheat for a loooong time.

Raven has 115.6k effective HP in your setup, while plated mega has 124k. Mega optimal also is 6.8km with void.
