Eosfun asked for my feedback in this thread so here it is.
I asked him last week to write some code to grab some data from the api interface and store it in a database.
It allready started when he quoted me for the job.. 1,7 Bn isk. He explained to me that it would require about 1 week of work to get the job done, so 1,7 Bn isk would be fair.
I didnt agree with this, and after some little negotiating, I would pay him 600M isk.
3 hours later, the work was done.. A lot faster as the intial week it would take according to him.
I assumed it would be 600M isk well spend, because I had close to 0 knowledge of php. I uploaded the code to my host and tried to run it. Lots of errors returned.
Seemed my host blocked the "fopen" function. I contacted eosfun again, and he rewrote it to use cURL instead, which the host did support. So far so good. Uploading again, still lots of errors  .
None of the 4 queries he wrote for me worked. I contacted eosfun again and he promised to fix it. In the meanwhile, I looked into the code myself, and found several solutions myself, mostly errors because of badly written code by eosfun (forgetting quotes, calling wrong API, using the wrong arrays etc etc. So far still pretty good.
Several days later. Still not everything works as it should. I did find the problems in the code, but with my now little more then 0 knowledge of php didnt have a solution to fix them. So I mailed him with the problems in the code. Several days go by, still no response, so I decide to convo him.. "ok will fix this today". Glad that it will finally all get fixed, I move on.
Its now several days later again. Never got a response from eosfun, while in this thread several other people posted feedback, so he seems to be active and has time to do the coding. I finally managed to fix all the code after more then a week of looking into it, and browsing all kind of "learn php" websites. He was right after all, it would take a week, but with very little input from eosfun himself.. Atm I spend 600M into a "learn yourself php course".
Most of the errors where pretty simple, typos, badly editted copy-paste work. They just got there because eosfun did a rushjob. He just wanted to get as much isk as possible in as little time as possible. I guess that usually works well, as long as the code doesnt contain to many errors.
I'm not a satisfied customer. eosfun will probably reply to this feedback, trying to save his business. That's fine, I just hope other potential customers will think twice before hiring this guy. Instead, hire me, I'm now a expert php programmer.
