i've just read the "I love my hyena!" thread and seems like a solid ship, in fact i'll be getting one myself. Kitsune sounds amazing with its great jamming skills, i won't be getting it seeing as i don't feel like training caldari frigate 5. The sentinel also looks fantastic and i will be getting one as soon as i've finished up a few t2 minmitar things. Whats odd though is that i look at the Keres and wonder what i'm going to do with it. I am gallente and can fly it, but right now its the most expensive EAS and from what i can tell the one with least fun involved. I'm probably wrong, so i come to you, citizens of eve to enlighten me. What are your opinions, ye EAS fans, thus far?
thanks for the input, Ignitious

It's a minilachesis, with the recent nerfs turning them so increadibly cheap.. there's really no point in using it.
It can't do much the other EASs can't do better.

Well, you can effectively scramble another ship thats slower than you forever.
Damps still work well, and a Keres can go a good speed while running everything forever.
Jusst FYI:
3 damps :: 100km -> 17.5km 75 km -> 13.?km 45 KM -> 7 km
These ships will still be very useful, they can scramble from 36 km away and keep an enemy ship's targeting range at half of that. Amarrians will love you in-game. An Ad Hominem is a general category of fallacies in which a claim or argument is rejected on the basis of some irrelevant fact about the author of or the person presenting the claim or argument. |

hmm...perhaps a dumb question, but wouldn't the eos links apply to the RSDs? if they do then i might get the keres just because i have a corpy that (still) loves his eos to death

No one has whined about Gallente since Trinity came online, we have been put in the backroom with Amarr.
Edit: Just a thought, but due to the scripts nerf to sensor boosters, this could help compensate for the damp nerf. Most people will be running Scan Res scripts (if any). Jita: No one gets out alive. |

It's also a gangmod that got nerfed \o/
Keres is pointless. To the person who posted above... the new interceptors do the same job just a lot better. Damps only lock down the person you're tackling.. most of the people who complain about these new EAS ships on the forums dont realize that most engagements arent 1vwhatever, there will be many ships there and that keres will die fast, whereas an areas or something is fast enough to speed tank assuming no huginns come along.

ALL EAS frigs will get killed when there's a blob waiting for you..no eas ship is capable of taking on a blob solo, but EAS ships in a gang can be very useful in the hands of the right pilot. You just need to know your weaknesses and strengths and need to know when to get the hell out.

well, if we take this way.. the only way a Keres can make a battleship safely locked down in a way that it won't harm anyone that comes inside web range is to slap 3 range scripted dampners. that leaves 1 slot for mwd and 1 for a warp jammer. and this will only work if the battleship doesn't have a sensor booster. but if he has one he can simply swap range for targetting speed, meaning that everyone that gets into inside targetting range will actually be locked faster.
in the past, you needed 3 dampners to do the same job as a single ECM jammer, now you can't do that.
so in sum, the Keres would be better with a dampner + 2 warp jammers, a mwd, and a small injector to make cap more stable, together with a set of nanos in lows for extra speed.
however, if it's warp jamming you want, an ares will do the same job, allot faster, altho with a shorter range (but still outside neut range). ---
