Too much time to make a pretty effective hauling alt. People would abuse it.

I think you need a better internet connection or computer. I never have any problems. ------------- My salsa makes all the pretty girls want to dance and take off their underpants. I <3 ( . Y . ) |

Hehe, come try out one of our 50vs50 fleet battles and tell me there's no lag.
Like 1 frame / 5 seconds.
Modules won't turn on/off.
Messages that says "something has started to warpscramble something".
Being hit and taking damage 30 seconds AFTER you've warped away from the battle.
etc etc etc.
Doesn't matter if you have a 100Mbit connection and a "kick-ass computer".
Still lots of fun. Hope CCP will continue to work to improve lag though...

there is a difference between lag and poor FPS, sound like in your case your comp just cant handle the action.

server lag causes poor fps.
Anybody who has been in the action knows this pretty well

I have been in more than a few large fleet battles, and yes there was lag, but it was nowhere near what both of you are describing. I suffered a minor fps loss and that was it.. everything else worked just fine.

Edited by: Seth Argon on 13/03/2004 06:45:26 Yes most of the lag problems are due to week computers and poor conections |

I got a p4 3.2 ghz o/c at 3.8 with 800 mhz fsb, a r9700 pro and 1.5 gig of memory. I have a 1mb connection also
all the above listed problems I have had when engaging in large fleet battles.

Good news with the 10 day trial. I have not used the buddy program as that is too little time to get used to the game and too time consuming to teach the basics.
I'll mail the file planet offer to my mates.

Ummm, if you've got a crap frame rate, that would be your crap pc, not a crap server.

Ok, Moron and everyone else that responded like this,
if you have never been in a big battle, you have NO idea at all what I'm talking about. So plz STFU, it's not a good idea to try look like a smart kid on the forum by exposing yourself as someone with little game experience.
If the client shows that your location is a moon 100 au away from the battle, but you're still being hit and taking damage from the players that are 100 au away, it's got absolutely **** to do with my computer.

Uhm, you guys still think its too laggy? I Do most certainly not.. Fleet battles have a WAST improvement lag-wise. However the "lag" experienced now are not due to datastreams being slow, its because the LOD isnt working the way it should. Its the graphicscards that gets the hickup, atleast on my side. Last battle fought was a 40vs40 battle, and CONSIDERABLY better latency than before the serverside patch thingy. --
