"loosing" your mind?
What a nice way to say the word you are illiterate. You're LOSING a great opportunity to stfu.
Everyone also already knows that you can only fly Manticores. Not a great diversity huh?
And those glasses... Omg, ridiculous. Then again, they match the haircut perfectly.
On a brighter note, Thumbs up for the image quality. And the zombie on your right side stopped staring at the ceiling, that is nice.

It shows promise :)
It's nice to see something like this coming along, and kudos for the free production, but it does need work. VampireZIM isn't bad but the co host REALLY needs to relax, project and put a bit of energy into the delivery.
The manticore isn't a common choice for suicide ganking from what I have seen - and also you made no mention of the practice of scanning people at one gate to gank them at a second.
The review of the Sony whatsit seemed a bit out of place tbh, it wasn't really about Eve...

Pretty much a 100% improvement over the first episode and I look forward to the 3rd.
One thing that I notice is that it seems like you are relying on the tele-prompter a bit too much. It might be worth sitting down for a few minutes with your notes, get a general idea of the topics you plan to discuss, then use the tele-prompter only for reference & timing. Better to have an unscripted smooth performance vs a scripted performance that seems stressed, like you are trying to keep up with the prompter.
Another thing to think about is a news desk. Doesn't have to be much, just a folding table covered with something you can get a chroma-key off of. If you are handy you could build most of it practically and save a bit of compositing work, you would be surprised what you can make with a couple bucks and a trip to the craft store.
Other than the obvious posture and & comfort advantages, a desk gives the opportunity to have some personal notes laid out in front of you that you can reference between segments. Even in multi-million dollar news studios with all the tech available, the talent in front of the camera still have those little blue pieces of paper to glance at when they need them.
As a new player, I love the in-game tutorial segments and I look forward to a broader range of topics submitted by other experienced players.
Thanks for all the hard work, if you improve as much next week as you did this week, Eve-cast will be a top-notch production in no-time. Just don't be discouraged by the grammar ****s, or the idiots calling Lord Orei a Zombie.

I like this a lot... Post in General discussion next time!
You should change the background with every show... keep the station setting the same but like a different location blue sun, red sun, pink sun, POS, other cool places.

I see you decided to take the show to a "nt-tv" format... :( I was honestly captivated by the impromptu smiles and beers-on approach but as serious goes this is top notch. Still would rather have the semi-podcast format from ep001. At the end of the day, its your effort and whatever makes your balls dingle is what you and Orei should go for.
Anyway, congratulations on a spectacular show and a massive improvement. This can probably go to real TV quality if you keep it up! Nothing to say except for the live audio thing again. Its much better in the manti demo but REALY sucks in the tiny PC thing presentation. A nice post production voice recording with a neat music in the background would have been tops. After all, its a review so that is the format i guess. :)
Hope you guys can keep it up and well done. I imagine its a HUGE ammount of work.
BTW...Where is Orei's cap? Get him some bling or something! Realy! And next episode try and drink some more before and during the takes. :D

Holy ****, only 16 minutes - but I'm sure it took hours and hours to produce. Kudos.
What kind of graphics processor does that little sony unit have?
Also, do you guys know if Asus' new line of ultra-portable laptops (Eee PC) would run EVE?
Good work.

I totally agree with you about the seriousness. I produced a show last year that was about gadgets and technology and it was completely unscripted and we would get trashed and it was alot more lax.
I wanted to do that with this show, however quickly determined that I wanted to cater to the serious EVE player.
So we are working out a new plan, so far I think what we are going to do is a serious news segment, then the game tip to loosen things up a little, then a 3rd segment where we talk about the politics of eve.
This 3rd segment will be done in a way where we script what is happening, what space is being taken, what alliances are thriving and which ones are struggling. But we will be drinking and will have alot more back and forth.
Its still in the idea phase, not sure how its going to work yet.
I also want to bring another person to the show, I have a girl friend who plays eve, soon as I can talk her into doing the show, she will probably take over for most of the news segment.
Our mic is ****, we know this. But right now I dont have the money to buy a better one. Its kinda funny, because in all honesty, it takes about $10,000 worth of equipment to make the show as it is right now, from the professional grade HD camera to the high end computer I use to edit and encode it all. But I am using a mic I got for free with my motherboard.
Soon as I can muster up more money, I will get mics that match the quality of the rest of my equipment.
bling, hehe. We have plans to dress up a little, the idea is that we shoot the show from my CHIMERA, I think we should look more like captains of a ship in EVE, pirate captains of course, but much less like two guys doing a show in their every day clothes.
I dont know how that is going to develop, its not going to be nerdy like dressing like star trek characters, but it will be something a little more real life.
Anyway, thanks for the input.

Great episode guys though a bit short, but I understand the production work probably takes vastly longer. I would love to see these last 30 minutes each. Hopefully as you guys start to cover more this will be possible.
I really love how you have moved to shifting focus to the commentator that is talking about the topic. Definitely looks much more professional. The new set is also great but would love to see you, "gritty" it up a bit since EVE is a harsh world and it looks a little too perfect.
I would love to see the Game Tip section expand to T1 ships as well since there are so many underestimated T1 ships out there. A newbie coming into EVE would likely appreciate seeing methods they can use right away to become effective in the game.
But all around guys, great work and I can definitely see the improvements already. Can't wait for the next episode.

huzzah!
I enjoyed it, better than sitting down and drinking beer the whole time IMO
lol
it was funny but hard to take it for real :P
so yeah good stuff this week!
however can't you use the in-game music for the videos? I'm not talking about the jukebox music I'm talking about tyhe minmatar and eve rock files that are hidden in dead space and in the client.
I would really hope you guys as hosts allready know about this secert little stash of music eve has to offer.
then again it's the same music as used in eve-tv and you guys might not want to be eve-tv so.
cerdits roll was great, great music too.
(maybe the the only thing that got me was reusing music)

Nicely done. Some of the tiny points have been brought up, but yeah, co-host needs to either do a bit more adlibbing, and work at not being so obvious he's reading something just above the camera ;) But still entertaining.
Would there be any chance it could be put into an RSS feed and downloaded to something like iTunes? There was an RSS link that iTunes recognized but nothing was in the list.
Happy to see someone trying to fill the void of EVE-TV and I wish you luck. First two episodes were a great first start, and I hope you have more on the way.

Generally good effort and shows - nice to see someone take up the eve tv mantle. There are some technical hickups but overall kudos. I like the ship settup part of the ganking trailer - much more practical than eve tv's ship profiles - excellent although I am not sure I would use a manticore for ganking but then ur the pirates not I, much prefer nbsi 0.0 (this is an alt poster due to alliance rules) Didn't really understand the mobile device thing especially as some of comments were US based (ie talking of US mobile providers) and eve is a worldwide game but hey we all have our own perspectives. Overall not a bad idea. Generally thumbs up and WD will be regular viewer.

Its got to take a lot of time and effort.
Your always going to get useless tossers like Starfarer needing a bit of attention, but thats why the McDonalds fries machine was invented so even they have something to do in this world.

I know I've contacted you in-game lol, but I thought I'd post on here too :P
But yeah, a good way of making that ISK donation happen, is to actually advertise the Corp/Alliance or even Player who is donating with a small 15-20 second (or more if they give well :P) advert dedicated to them that they have made, perhaps between segments or at the beginning of the broadcast before the opening scene even starts. IDK. This may make you feel as if you're sending players into other corps, but remember that you have an advert for you own corp at the start and end of each episode too :) EVE is all about community, and if other player can influence "evecast.tv" it'll create a community feel to the program too...if you know what I mean
I'm sure people would HAPPILY "donate" ISK if you were to give a kind of reward back to them such as an advertising slot.
Also, I agree totally with Soldara's post, memorising the script, and not necessarily sticking exactly to it may actually give a more relaxed feel. Maybe even memorising the details of the script, and what order to say stuff in, and then making it up as you go along. Pauses for thinking about what to say next might actually help the conversation the "presenter" is having with the "viewer" to feel more personal and make the viewer feel as if he is a part of the production as a whole, mistakes and all.
If you watch NewsTV presenters, they talk to the viewer as if we're their friends lol.
I SAY KEEP THE GLASSES!!! It might turn out to be a distinctive feature that means people can relate to you better "VampireZIM...the one with the shades" :D The same about co-presenter, (Sorry, name eludes me.), a distinctive feature that means his "Presenter personality" shines through a little will help things. It doesn't have to be something material, maybe a different background scene with a short dedicated segment.
As you get a few suggestions about new segments, I'm sure there'll be one he is suited to.
That is all :P KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! I'M LOVING IT!
ps. These are all productive critisms, none of them are intended to insult, and the fact that I'm bothering to post this essay shows that I think your program is worth my effort to do so. Keep having fun guys ;) Don't let it get too serious, it'll be the destruction of the project if it does!

I really liked the bit where you went through the set up of the manitcore. It really erked me on eve tv when they'd go through the setup of a ship in less than 10 seconds and assumed you knew what they were talking about. Good mics will up your production 10 fold
