Edited by: Scavok on 15/12/2007 05:05:20 We reinforced all of bob's towers earlier in the week. One of their towers went offline on Tuesday or Wednesday and GS and IAC formed up to kill it, but it had the rapid fire bug and after waiting for a GM to fix it for 2 hours we left; bob reonlined it some time shortly after. 3 of bob's towers exited reinforced yesterday and they repped/stronted 2 and seemingly forgot about 1, which we killed in US primetime. With the tower that went offline not claiming sov and this tower dead it set sov neutral and broke sov 3.
Tonight IAC had 4 towers coming out, and we had 45 capitals and 250 subcaps to defend. BoB had around equal capital numbers with 5 or 6 MS and 4 titans. With 4 titans our support fleet may as well have not existed, and as such I chose to defend the tower with POS guns (the first 2 towers had none). I put all capitals inside the pos with a covops 190 away that we would warp to at 100 to engage bob's equal capital numbers.
When BoB finished with the first 2 towers they warped a heavy dictor and additional heavy dictors into the IAC POS with a password their spies got. I tried to warp the capital fleet out to engage BoB's fleet, but of course we couldn't go anywhere. This aggressed our entire capital fleet (new game mechanic, a very good one under most circumstances). There was 15 minutes left on the reinforced timer when they did this and after trying to change the PW to bump our capitals out for 5 minutes (impossible in the lag created by fighters shooting POS guns), I told our capitals to ctrl-q. They eventually got bumped out of the POS with only a few minutes of aggro but bob failed to kill any I imagine because of the lag.
My fault for not knowing broken game mechanics and not bothering to put up our own staging POS like we normally do. Whatever.
And congrats to BoB, you could have killed a lot of our capitals on a very equal termed engagement, but instead you killed none. Maybe you'll gank a few when they log back in if you're lucky. Our POS war is set back for IAC with the tower losses, but with sov 3 broken and short timers you're going to be doing a lot of repping. Hope ****socking this op was worth the 10 moon mining towers you lost around delve today.

Nice battle report. Thanks. You do sound a bit bitter. BoB must be doinfg something right.
I am a little bitter. I was excited to have a challenge in my primetime for the first time in months. Their normal US crew is such laughing stock that they make RISE 8 months ago look like professionals.

Does the log server note aggression status, perhaps?

I didn't know you could do the bubbles inside a forcefield. Before trinity when it was done I thought it was because the FF was inactive, now the FF no longer exists in any form when it's inactive. I knew about the new bubble aggro mechanics from dictor pilots, they've been needed for awhile. Being able to aggro pilots in a FF without being able to shoot or target back is pretty broken though, not that I won't return the favor if the opportunity arises and CCP hasn't fixed it.
