If you haven watched firefly your life is incomplete.
and im not just saying this off the cuff it takes a bit for firefly to grow on you but it is so well done it leaves all other shows looking like shallow puppet shows.
in short firefly is cowboys in space but its much more rich and complex than that like the chinese influences in society but there in a similar situation to the players in eve...
the people of firefly universe left earth and went to a distant area (best I can tell its a very large solar system or a very close cluster of systems with avout 50-60 habitable worlds known as "THE VERSE"
there is captain MAL a veteran in a civil war on the loosing side (not necessarily the wrong side)
ANARA the companion/prostatute an honerable profession in the verse she is intoxicating and exotic
WALSH the pilot light hearted but talented pilot
ZOE the dark and loyal right hand warrior of mal and the wife of walsh
KAYLE the young and bubbly and talented ship mechanic
BOOKER the preacher with a seemingly misterious background (thal shal not kill,, but god was a bit fuzzy on kneecaps)
JANE a simplistic and comical gun hand
RIVER a mentally torchered girlthat her brother rescued from an alliance lab and are now on the run unknowingly a terrible secret.
SIMON rivers brother a doctor that is a bit high society on the run with his sister.

firefly was on FOX but was poorly treated (they didnt even show the pilot till the last) about 15 hours of episodes were created it was sumarily canceled after only one season but I can safely say FIREFLY has only increased in popularity so much so that universal created SERENITY these shows arnt a flash in the pan type of show, they are a LONG BURN the type of show worthy of watching for years to come. firefly was created by joss whedon the same guy that did buffy and angel series.
I know we havent seen the last of the firefly story not with the growing culture around it.

Firefly is a good show, but it's easy to see why it was canceled. It's cowboys speaking chinese in space. Pretty hard to get anyone to watch it.

Firefly was an awesome show plus it had some smoking hot women in it.. Zoe can***** my gun anyday and Kaylee gets my vote for 'The girl next door you wish you had' award..

so i'm not the only one watching it on SciFi now. Too bad Fox decided to air this great show out of order. oh well add it to the list of great shows Fox doesn't know how to handle like Arrested Development.

Firefly was a show that should have continued... but will live in many people's hearts forever.
And, it's Inara... not Anara :) Anara is her evil, twisted twin who you never got to meet because Fox was such a short sighted company pandering to the lowest common denominator... reality tv shows and other complete garbage.

FIREFLY is frickin' awesome. My housemate introduced me to it about two years ago and I was instantly hooked. It's so very annoying that it got shut down before it chance to flourish. Fox are total a'holes.

Firefly had all of 13 episodes.
You can't really compare it to shows like BSG or Stargate that have a couple of seasons under their belts.
