Has anyone tried using nanite repair paste? Does it seem to be useful? Does it seem to repair modules fairly fast compared to taking heat damage?
So far I bought the skills that are supposed to boost it, found I couldnt train them because of the bug which is hopefuly being fixed this next patch, bought 50m3 of the paste and arranged a courier mission to have it somewhere useful. The paste seems somewhat expensive compared to its volume, and I'm somewhat curious as to how fast it will be used up.

So you state that you know nobody can use them due to a known bug, yet you ask if anyone has tried them anyway...

Edited by: Galliana Foresta on 15/12/2007 17:23:24 You CAN use the paste, but without the skills that boost speed and repair amount, it's highly inefficient. It works quite well if you have a few units and aren't in a rush. ---------------

You carry it in your cargohold, much as you would standard ammunition, and when your modules start taking heat damage, you right click the affected module and click 'repair'. Obviously the repair function only appears when the module has taken heat damage, and when you're carrying said paste in your cargohold.
You can't use the paste when a module is running, nor can you use it when a module or rack is being overloaded. So it's no good for permanent 'overclocks', but great for if you happen to be out in deep space and without access to a station with repair facilities. Or if you're too lazy to dock and repair manually.

Galliana. ---------------

I've used it a LOT after they put it in, and i've used overheating a LOT more than I used to because of it. A module about 50% damaged uses about 25ish nanite paste, it's about the same price as repairing it at a station. Guns seemed to use a lot less, i think its based on how many 'hitpoints' the modules have.

Experimentation on nanite repair paste:
You can repair a damage modules, if you have nanite repair paste in your cargo.
It takes about 20s per 10% damage repaired, and uses about 5 units of paste to do so.
You can only do so if nothing is being overloaded whilst you are repairing, and the mod in question needs to be offline. You can partially repair, and then re-activate a mod.
It's great - you don't need a station to fix overheaded mods any more, which makes overloading 'in the field' far more feasible.
I don't it'll get commonplace for PvE persuits - fixing mods is still expensive, and having one go offline is still annoying. -- Crane needs more grid 249km locking? GMP and TNP |

This is perhaps a little misleading. The module doesn't have to be offline - just inactive and not overloaded. ---------------
