Originally by: Khorian This is indeed EPIC. BoB is to EvE what the Shadows where to Babylon 5. They exist to test the other alliances. Every thousand years they show up to remove the weak from the universe, and every thousand years it takes the whole universe to combine their forces to repell the shadow invasion. BoB has been the greatest menace to the universe for a long time now. How else can you explain the huge bandwaggon now, if it weren't for fear and hatred. So in this, BoB succeeded to live up to its role.
Now think about this and use your empathic powers for a moment. Sounds like propaganda... but for one moment try to see things from BoBs point of view:
BoB can only win in this. If they lose, it has taken almost the whole universe to bring them to their knees. This war is ragin since more than a year. No other alliance has accomplished what BoB has, and probably never will. If BoB loses all their territory they are free roamers, ready to haunt the universe. And even the hardest critics would have to give them a little bit respect for how far they went, and how long they lasted. No alliance could withstand the sheer brutality that is hailing down on BoB and its allies right now. Not a single one. Not even RA had to endure something like this in their worst period.
If BoB does indeed hold Delve, their Truimph would be even bigger.
But as I said before, there is no shame in losing to 80% of the universe. At least they tried and put everything into the effort then. Most other alliances are just in it for the isk. For BoB, the way is the goal. They put their goal HIGH (total World domination) but they never gave up to keep reaching for it. It was just a goal. It keeps them going like a carrot on a stick, no one really gives a **** if it ever really should happen. That would just be a nice bonus. But all in all total world domination is a thing of impossibility. And I think Sir Molle knows that very well.
I know Goons don't believe in it, but a fact is that most people (except goons) play this game for the "e-honor", wether they admit it or not. Even if it sounds *** to you, but YOU play a role in EvE. You are a roleplayer. To make a name for yourself and your corp/alliances. That's what MMOs are all about. Because EVE to them is more than CS in space.
BoB has left it's mark in EvE allready, and its climbing higher each day this war keeps raging on. It doesn't matter if you reach the ultimate goal, as long as you keep trying.
The Journey is the goal.
So step back one second and admire the greatness of EvE and the politics within. Isn't this great?! This is epic! This is like a whole SciFi series and WE are the actors.
It's just sad that so much RL hatred seems to play a role in it too. I would enjoy EvE much more if everyone could just accept other alliances for what they are and not bring a RL level into it.
This is our MMO, it's the best MMO out there in terms of power players can achieve. We can really form our universe. If only more people would try to "roleplay" it at least once a month. I'm not talking about hard core roleplaying. All I would want to see is people suck down stupid one liners and useless drivel instead of hitting the reply button. And show a bit more respect.
Well, i brought my flamesuit with me, i am prepared to take the heat thats probably gonna rain down on me now, so go ahead and Good Luck!
