Half life was made in the Quake engine. I saw no mods for half-life based on the half-life story.
Your informationz is wrong!
Uh... Sven Coop?
And half-life was based on its own engine, you tool.

so you say natural selection is a quake engine based game? it's true half-life's engine is based on quake engine, but it was changed a lot. No matter what, since natural selection wouldn't be made without half-life, i like half life more than any other game:b i wish they could stop that cheaters so i could play even more ns though v.v

Sven Coop was just a mod for hldm to allow two or more players to run through the game. Then they added new maps and such. It wasn't a continuation of the story.
And no matter how modified an engine is, the engine is still what it was originally.
Gears of War was made in the UT3 engine, even though it was heavily modified. Loads of games have been made using a heavily modified UT2 engine. Dark Messiah was made in a heavily modified Source engine.
No matter how much you modify an engine, it won't change from one engine to another. It is still the same base engine. ---

Deus Ex 1 > Half Life 1, although both are good.
Half Life 2 > Deus Ex 2, although both suck pretty hard.

GoW and DM used licensed engines. They just dropped new content into an existing bit of software.
Half-Life on the other hand was heavily rewritten and as of the games release had "portions" of Quake code in. EVE RELATED CONTENT |

Comparing Deus Ex with Half-Life is pretty much pointless, because both of them are awesome.

half-life for me. simply because i liked it better, and i wanted to complete it. that and enemys throwing hand grenades over box'es i was covering behind. and half-life came out of the blue, it wasnt like someone had raved about for years before it came out.
ive heard the arguments, seen other people play deus ex, and ive gone back home. reinstalled it. and after 20mins im bored. actually im annoyed that i can see the enemy, he's right there in front of me. and i cant hit him. for a special agent, the dude you are seems abit too much short bus special.

half life 2! valve rock, the game is great, the graphics were top notch and still are aswell as being lag free on a totaly **** PC. while the episodes are just more of the same stuff, who cares if the "stuff" is awsome. Bring on episode 3: revenge of the combine. HL1 was good also, as it was the game that got me into FPS.
Deus Ex seemed pretty average to me....

If he was implying the episodes than yeah they are not amazing. Buy hl2 was brilliant when it was released. --------

This is a completely worthless question, really. The games are quite distinct and play entirely differently. You might as well ask whether people like the Chicago Bulls more than the Edmonton Oilers.

I seem to have this innate ability to kill threads. It's quite fascinating. Whenever I comment somewhere, it must be such a perfect comment that no one can think of anything else that could be said. "Oh, Drewski commented here already? Well, he wrapped it up nicely, nothing more needs to be said now!"
Yeah, that's it.
