Edited by: DB Preacher on 14/03/2004 13:14:59 Last week, joint forces from RKK/DSIN/CELEST attacked FADE and were thwarted before we could take the stations. (Read about it here.)
This week after another day of harassing and slaughtering Mercenary Frigate corp, RKK and DSIN forces decided to move on FADE again. We had 13 in our attack force with RKK CEO Galavet and DSIN Director Toulak leading the forces. Less numbers than last week but we decided to make an evening of it.
We moved up quickly to c4c-z4 and jumped straight in. NO enemy RSA forces decided to make a stand. We headed for the station began pounding the hell out of it. As this was previously a NORAD held, we contacted NORAD leaders and asked if they wished to take it back.
At this point elsewhere in the galaxy, NORAD were fighting alongside FA forces against the FE forces who had last week moved up to assist RSA forces. NORAD let us know they were busy but said they did want to come up.
DSIN took the first station in c4c-z4 at the same time as we were getting reports that FE were moving north, closely followed by the NORAD and FA forces. From what I could see the NORAD/FA forces were led by Blacklight of Black Nova Corp and a CELEST member - Rohann. (I wasn't on their TS so i can't be sure).
RKK prepared to pull out of c4c-z4 and move to a position behind FE, unfortunately we were too slow. As I jumped out of the system, I landed on top of the full FE fleet of around 20 BS. A quick call to the RKK forces to hold and a quick warp to the sun and we were on.
RKK/DSIN moved to a nearby planet while the FE fleet moved into position around the gate inside c4c.
The NORAD/FA Fleet, which I joined, moved to the cloning station at L-C307 and began pounding on it. It had almost been plundered when we got the call FE were moving to attack.
At 04:37:24, in they came, a couple of FADE members sent in first by the FE were destroyed quickly. The NORAD/FA fleet TS dropped at this point so they were impotent to concentrate fire. RKK/DSIN came and jumped into the battle.
The battle raged, ships were pulling out in flames on both sides. For the briefest of moments, a large number of enemy ships had pulled out to recharge and repair and we were winning the battle. At that point, my shields were down and I was taking a battering from Jhered Stern and Mongo Peck. I pulled out at 04:40:02, shield boosted and came back.
When I returned to the battle at 04:42:38, I saw that FE had the advantage, most of the NORAD/FE/RKK forces had pulled out to repair or been destroyed. I stayed until there were five friendly forces left (I remember clocking Blacklight, Galavet, Rohann and Toulak still fighting at that point). There were around 13 enemy BS still there.
The call was given to pull back at 04:45:24. It was close but FE had won the battle, with so many forced requiring repairs, we couldn't get the force back together to attack again.
Total Confirmed losses for the FA/NORAD/RKK/DSIN/CELEST forces were: 2-4 Battleships 1 Kestrel 1 Merlin 1 Caracel
Total Confirmed losses for the FE/FADE Forces were: 1 Station 2 Battleships 1 Caracel 1 Blackbird 1 Thorax 1 Punisher
We lost this battle for Fade. The war is far from over.
Kudos to Rohann, Blacklight, Myggan and the rest of the FA/NORAD forces who came so far for a fight. We will repay that favour.
Kudos to Galavet and Toulak who moved the RKK/DSIN fleet effortlessly. FE won here, but RSA most definitely lost.
Kudos to FE. You won this battle.
RSA will be destroyed, one way or another.

Great fun. I am happy FE/RSA decided to jump out of c4c ad attack the NORAD/FA force at the clone station so we could follow.
THe ensueing battle was interesting to say the least. Glad it did not end in a blob war. -------------------------

Very good fight but rather surprised how "laggy" it was...... I have been in far bigger battles and I can't remember it being this bad.

Yeah it was a very good fight
as fr the 2 battleships we lost.. who were they? i know we lost Nebula Orion (only FE to lose a ship) who was flying a punisher class frigate, also lost 2-3 fade cruisers, i wasn't aware of other loses.
Lag wasnt too bad... but could have been better, /me slaps CCP

Havo, you weren't the only force on your side, FADE were there too.
We killed a BS of marco someone when he dropped in first to the battle and Rohann took down a Dominix at the sun.

RSA has no official fleet - we defend ourselves by sending political motivated pirates into the regions of the attacking alliances. Atm only PA, Arcadia, Norad and FA are attacking us so the buccaneer-forces have a lot do to next weeks. RSA scientists calculated that the RSA buccaneers will need roundabout 5 months to destroy the 5000 enemys of the RSA. Fade is the home of 3-4 small mining corps and this wont change.

Edited by: Blacklight on 14/03/2004 16:23:21 Firstly big thanks to FE/RSA for such a good fight, always fun having a pop at you guys. Congrats on what we have to admit was the victory to you guys in the end, some mad fighting skills amongst that FE fleet.
Secondly, very big thanks to FA for showing how strong the relationship with NORAD still is and for coming when we called. We'll always return the favour, as you know. Big shame on the timing, would have been utter madness if the full fleet of 48 could have stayed all the way to Fade!
Finally, very good big props to the guys from RKK and CELES, very good fun indeed to fly with you. Both BNC and NORAD look forward to working with you again in the future.
Good saturday night all told and the fist one I've managed to stay sober enough to live through in a couple of weeks!
P.S. Props to Bizarre of Xanadu who actually led the NORAD/FA fleet until we got to Fade when Rohann took over.

You can say that again, 1 min to load up the area, 30secs to lock, and when I finally do lock someone I have to warp out again cause I finally receive the messages that I'm being target jammed, and even then im still firing on Jherad 2 mins after leaving the battlefield, and all this is on ADSL.. crazy.
Wasnt fun at all imo.

Now all we need is ingame system for verifying ship destructions. |

Hear, hear.
I try to give accurate losses and kills based on reports from all sides of the battle, but even this is impossible without a proper kill reports.
The only thing I can confirm 100% is that DSIN took a station, we killed a FADE rupture at the station while FE were camping the gate in a hit and run attack and that Sun Ra lost his Scorpion after I told him to dampen Jhered Stern, which led to all of FE opening fire on him.
P.S. The smaktalkers and trolls are not welcome. Last night was a proper fight with proper forces on either side and no smaktalk. The way things should be. dbp

Well said, quite why we can't all beat up on each other and chat about it afterwards without all the smack/trolling is beyond me.
I can confirm 1 Scorp, 1 BB and 1 Merlin downed from BNC lastnight.
We think we saw a Scorp and a BB go down from the FE/RSA guys but difficult to tell.

Regardless of the losses the battle was indeed a challenge to all. Our allies have shown more then once that they are worthy fighters. Our enemies have shown they are worthy enemies. I know from experience how difficult it is to admit defeat and how easy it is to claim victory. The forces that engaged each other last night faced tremendous challenging factors from lag to communication problems to inaccurate intelligence reports on ship movement. In the end both sides accepted the chaotic nature of war and met the enemy in battle.
When we made our move last night our orders were to move into the Cloud Ring and harass NORAD. Within an hour FA had massed a large force and began to move north the engage the threat. We began maneuvering about the cloud ring to make sure this fleet was indeed headed for us. They matched us very closely; their scouts making contact with us several times. During our maneuvers we encountered light resistance and destroyed 1 battleship an industrial and one thorax barley escaped with his ship (he had to be down to like 5-6% structure).
We waited for about 2 hours while the FA force massed something in the range of 40 to 50 ships. At one point their advanced elements came within 2 jumps of us, but at that point we noticed that the force in C4 had grown larger. Not wanting to be caught between the hammer and the anvil we chose to engage the smaller force first and not allow the two fleets to merge.
We signaled the remaining Fade forces to link up with us and set course for the station at C4. One individual asked me: ôHow are we going to defeat so many ships?ö My response was a typical calm voiced reply that all Imperial officers are trained to use; ôOne ship at a time.ö
It appeared to us that the C4 forces were stalling until the FA forces could reinforce them (always a smart tactic even if you out number your enemy). We tarried at the gate for an hour while they attempted a couple of feints to get us to budge from our blockade. At that point, we had all been on for about 12 hours with very little action. Even the steel willed officers of the Imperial Navy were growing impatient. The blocked collapsed in on the gate and Jumped.
Instantiating a pulse warp-in maneuver in order to avoid the classic cluster_f&%kl of a gang warp with so many ships (thus having to initiate ôfleet cluster_f*&^K disengagement maneuver alphaö in the middle of a fight) we engaged the enemy. It was a terrible siteà Blood, carnage, violence, terror, women and children screaming, cats and dogs living together in peace! It was awful!
àand then it ended. With the exception of catching the retreating forces at the gate and taking two more down. Funny thing though. All four of the ships that we caught at the gate targeted me and commenced to blasting me to smithereens. However, I had my get ship out of perilous situations module on and was able to deal out more then I was taking. They went down or fled.
Anyway, we all had a great time.
Jhered Out!
