Involved in a corp war, boring details, blah blah...
Point is, fighting two enemy corp players, get one down to structure and then he vanishes at 86%. Didn't dock (was at a stargate), didn't warp as we had multiple scramblers (not disruptors, scramblers. +2 strength versions) on him. Just vanishes. No idea WTF happened. So we quickly move on to the next guy and figure it out later. Same thing happens. Get him down to 90% structure and he vanishes the same way as before. No station to dock in, no warping out. Just simply vanishing. What gives?
I should also mention, attempting to attack enemy drones now gives a "Concord will *****you if you do this." message.

they jumped through the gate, saw your camp, logged off before uncloaking. They disappear if you dont destroy them within 40 seconds.
**** poor tactic tbqfh.

Yep, as stated, you have discovered the power of ctrl-q
If they are offline before someone can agress them, you have 1 minute (usually less, with the way the after jump cloak works) before they disappear from space.
Usually someone who logs in space warps off first, so you dont see this, but you are stopping the warp.

oh yea...
Next you will camp the gate where they logged, waiting for them to come back. This would seem to make sense.
However, soon you will discover the power of what my corp has come to call the tech 3 loggoffski.
They will log on, then log off again, then log back on. When timed right, this will let them get back online WITHOUT warping back to where they first logged off...they will just end up at a random spot in space, from which they will then continue on to where ever, why you sit on the gate wondering why they havent warped in yet.

We thought maybe they had jumped through the gate, but that couldn't have been because we where at least 20k away from the gate, plus they where shooting us the entire time from the start of the fight to them disappearing.
If people are able to just "vanish" during PVP without any risk to their ships, how do fleet battles exist in 0.0?

Yes, there is a 15 minute aggro - typically. However, in this instance, the aggro did not count. When you jump in to system, you have 1 minute time of being cloaked - you are technically not there until you uncloak. If you ctrl-q, your cloak remains until the 1 minute is up. People attacking you need to destroy in 1 more minute time or else you dissappear - since you logged off before you uncloaked, you were not there, hence the aggro does not work.
The ASCN titan thing was a different story - he shot DD, lost connection/logged off (who knows the real story) before 15 minutes were up, and was probed down.

Did they leave local too? Perhaps they just left the grid ...

thats only if they shoot you back do you have 15 minutes to find them. If they dont fire a shot at you, theyre gone...sorry.

they logged off after jumping in but before decloaking,so they logged before they were aggroed.

What about if you have the ship locked down, he logs, we get the killmail and there's no modules on it. The guy claims he logged back on still in the same ship.

Incorrect. Any kind of aggro (other than the cloaking as I described earlier) keeps your ship in space for 15 minutes. Whether you did not shoot back, but somebody did sometype of aggro to you, your ship remains after logoffski/lost connection.

What kind of ship was it? Falcon/recon - maybe he jammed you cloaked and warped off? Perhaps a very fast moving ship that mwd out of grid?
Plus you said the warp scramblers not disruptors. Scramblers only have a range of 7500 or so - not the 20-24 that the disruptors have. Any webs on him from mwd'ing away?
Can you give a few more details?

I noticed (since the patch) ships disappearing during combat. I believe they actually warped off, but looks like they cloaked, instead of watching the ship zoom off as before. It only seems to be under certain circumstances. Some zoom off as normal, some disappear as you mention. Keep an eye on local and see if there still in system when this happens, you may have your answer. They can't cloak aggressed, and if they didn't jump, they must have warped away.
