Meh, its my personal opinion that there are too many supers in the game. I like the idea of them being superweapons that are rare and scary, instead of just another type of ship that some alliances can just blob when necessary. I'd like to see them made more rare somehow.
Either make them easier to kill so that there are less of them, or make them more expensive. Though I guess both of these options hurt newer less-established alliances who are just putting together a few supers.
So I guess its kind-of a hard problem to solve. |

So in your own words, titans are now so easy to aquire and are so numerous that they are mere battleships for alliances, while at the same time beeing so difficult to aquire that only people with no life can get them?
The logical conclusion would then be that alliances in EVE are composed of peope with no life. So thats what you are upset about? |

Well, I suppose a small group that got hands on a titan or two would shortly find that they were converted into salvage and killmails. Once alliances start getting into the swing of 30+ titan blobs and have multiple CSAAs around and are shipping around massive amounts of minerals etc, then suddenly they just mass more and more.
And the easiest source of supercap kills (need to raise your isk efficiency, right) would be the chaps with two titans that you can hotdrop. Not the other alliance with 20 titans sitting perpetually logged off in any number of their many held systems.

What amazes me with these threads is that people ***** about capital proliferation, while at the same time completely ignore skillpoint proliferation and isk proliferation.
Yes. In 2012, you have thousands of players with more than 100 million SP. You think they should stop training or something?
In 2012, you have thousands of players that have amassed isk for years and years, not to mention new major isk faucets like wormholes and incursions. You can get into a supercap in a few months doing incursions or wormholes you know.
This is related people. You cannot roll the game back to 2006, even if you wanted to. People still need goals. And when you sit there with 120 million SP, that goal is unlikely to be getting into a damned carrier. |

Meh, introduce a paradigm shift that drastically alters battlefield dynamics. We're seeing a little bit of this with the tier 3 BCs and SBs to an extent. If CCP really wanted/needed to stop supercap online, they could introduce "spinal mount" type weapons (i.e. huge weapons that run the length of the ship) which could allow battleships to severely savage capital class ships.
There's no reason to think that today's bigger-is-better advantage will remain an advantage in the future.

If you want to be in a new era pwn-mobile, fly a super or titan. Problem solved.
I dont get all the crying about how op they are. In huge fights, they kill and they die. Like any of us. Just a little more painfull for them when they pop I would imagine.
But when I am out pvping in a battle ship or what ever else. If i get hot dropped by anything, I loose.(I usually dont run for the fun lawlz we all get in the fight) And that is the nature of the game... Maybe I should have thought to bring something bigger also
Dont nerf anything, Maybe add some more dinamic machanics that make them more interesting in a fight. But meh... |

Perhaps they shouldn't.
But having a fleet of all supercaps that don't really need sub-cap support is a problem in my humble opinion. I think eve is lessened when you don't need diversity in your fleet to succeed.

Changes that were needed have been made.. aoe DD n fighter bombers. Supercaps should chew apart caps. If one alliance can field more s-caps, oh well. They earned the ability to do so some how. And a tracking titan loses out on a good chunk of its ehp.. and really doesn't track something special. If ppl want to mwd bloom burn towards one and think they are safe cause they are in a subcap.. sorry, but CCP can't n shouldn't have to fix stupid. Concerning both issues.. as the over used word goes.. Darwin.
Remove s-caps.. caps are 'endgame'.. remove caps.. then pie BS are 'endgame'.. and the cycle never ceases downward. No matter what.. ppl are going to follow a mold and natural progression in fleet warfare.. bring more firepower and use it. Nothing really changes the fact that the ones that can produce s-caps in greater numbers.. are also going to produce whatever the top warhorse ship is in greater numbers. Infact.. atleast when they do on s-caps, they are dumping a large amount of resources into one ship. Blow it up.. and they take a huge hit.. much more severe on the war chest than some caps.
I'd rather they work over some game mechanics, change some things around like cynos, re-work caps, and implement some completely new modules and things that develop n create more battle tactics that help encourage small subcap fleets guerrilla warfare style to become more viable.. without being completely dominating under circumstances of say running into a properly fit n large s-cap fleet with cap/sub support where they should simply get owned for making a poor choice, or getting admiral ackbar'd.
In other words.. don't dumb down the game.. which is what nerfs can do, and in this case, does. The more powerful alliances will remain more powerful, and idiots shouldn't be rewarded jus' because they are idiots. Put some more gears in to make the whole experince of null more complex, indepth and viable across a spectrum of combat strategy ideals. Instead of handing over scap kills by making it easy.. create mechanics that can allow those that work hard for it, can achieve despite being an 'inferior' alliance.
If I was in charge of a small group and confronted with one of the large entities.. I'd much rather have means to pop their desirable to own s-caps.. than to go up against a much, much deeper supply of caps or quality subcaps because that large entity's resources shifted towards them when s-caps where rendered boardline useless or removed. It'll take quite a lot of kills on the smaller ships to equal the dmg of one s-cap death to an alliance's warchest.
Becareful what you wish for, some of you. Keep in mind.. those with the most pilots are going to easily field smaller ships at a near endless supply. Figure out who is asking for what.. and where it would lead to. |

Titans are supposed to be flagships, the grand centerpiece of a 250 man fleet who's mere presence on the battlefield turns the tide of battle. They are not, however, supposed to be the whole fleet.
Tie all of a titans systems other than their drives to being FC of a real fleet. Disallow any ability from activating(including hull bonuses etc) unless they are passing links to a certain critical mass of pilots(I like 200, but 100 is a more realistic number). This will put them back where they are supposed to be, and prevent blobbing(if you need 100 people to power up each titan, you will not be fielding 50 titans, not even the CFC can do that) No, not everyone is part of a few thousand member coalition. Being part of a blob coalition should not be the requirement to use a titan. Titans just need a hard nerfbat in EW invulnerability, tracking and EHP so they die to subcaps again.

While you can't exactly hotdrop, capital ships have their place in wormhole space. Capital ships are the biggest you can bring to wormhole space, A wormhole that can allow capitals only allow three caps to pass through before disappearing, meaning that you have to make your ships count, making capitals significantly important.
There is no easy mode cyno hotdrops or super capital ships that have the hitpoints of large pos towers and ridiculous firepower.
The force of pure combined arms is whats important in wormholes. |

Why can't you just accept a death every now and then like the rest of us have to or are you really that pathetic you have to spam your votes to CSM and get CCP to nerf things in your favour?

I have always been a fan of carriers. After many boring and uneventful memberships in less capital hungry alliances, I found a home: Foundati0n. Foundati0n Vs RAMy love for carriers and the prowess they provided on the battlefield flourished here. Every day I had someone to kill in my Chimera. I held on to my Chimera, fortunate to never lose one in combat for a couple years. Kills and experience stacked, and my fondness for these ships grew and grew. But alas, Foundati0n wasn't forever. The amazing FC's (Valdor Hag one of them), the skillful use of triage carriers, PA's voice over coms... gone. I docked my Chimera and returned to empire, always itching for another hot drop. That was 5 years ago. Half a decade. I realize things evolve. Evolution should be on a fluid linear line, not a forceful change of events given by CCP. After nearly half a year of not playing eve, I had hoped to come back and join the political machine in null once more. I longed for that order to jump, the flash and thunder of the jump drive... but unless it's a super capital; I would never feel that rush once more. Carriers and dreads are nothing more but fodder for the titans. Titans which were never seen in combat except for drive by dooms days... Ships that took massive effort to build... are now the battleships of alliances. Perhaps it's true that Eve has run its course. The new generations of capsulears will never feel the same way I did after my first carrier kill. Things that were once the talk of local and corp, are nothing more than frigates to alliances. My plea CCP, fix capitals. Give carriers and dreads their place once more. Give the new players of Eve something to look up to. The stories of capital fights are nothing but a myth anymore. But CCP; you can fix this.
The new t2 triage modules is fantastic.
And in all honesty the t2 siege is pretty mean to... Well not on all 4 races dreads, but oh well.
And even before the t2 modules, look at some of R&K's battle reports.. They were taking out super caps while heavily outnumbered and with only 2 triage archons as support for their sub caps. |

Maybe hire mercs in a pinch? Its an MMO, that advertises based on large fleet combat. If you can't field a large fleet to support it, what are doing you fielding large ships?
