A new short story has been added to our website. Get yourself a cup of coffee / tea / favorite beverage and set your instant messaging program of choice to away, wait for your boss to leave the room and immerse yourself in "Forsaken Ruins".
In a fight for their lives, three bounty hunters stumble across the ruins of a dark, forgotten age.

That being said, can I have a cookie?

Long indeed! But good overall. I like how it was used to connect the pieces of the Immensea puzzle and shed further light on them and the whole rogue CONCORD officer incident - lends a lot of immersion. Make them a bit shorter, but not too much.

Was it just me losing my thread when the station info came smack into the story? I woke up a page later with someones brother in a lubed up Concord vessel, was I abducted?

oooooooo. Very nice, well written. Too bad the "warpdrive generation" can't stand the time it takes to read a few pages .

Nice story but now past history ... All players should be aware that most/all conquerable stations dotted around the EVEverse are in territory claimed by one alliance/corp or another who now control them - "sight seeing" is not recommended

I agree, very well written.
I especially like the use of the "salvage drones."
And can we assume that the actions of the pirates, aggressively patroling their systems, gates, and pursuing intruders even after warping, are a foreshadowing of the upcoming pirate changes of Shiva?

Edited by: Pitwebb on 16/03/2004 01:47:12 Amazing story. The only thing that messed me up was when they transitioned to the Concord General. I had to go back a page to make sure I didn't miss anything.
Hopefully Shiva will include the salvage drones. Mmmmm ... more toys.

Wow, that was an excellent story with some equally fine writing. I won't say I'm speaking for everyone when I voice this opinion... but I can only assume that many would agree with me: these short stories, along with t0rfi's sketches/pictures add a great deal to the game. They even inspire me to play more!
(I always say this and I'll say it again: things are more than welcome that are written or drawn that remind us that there are actually people and hallways and other things in these hulks we fly around and dock in.) Keep up the good work in this department one and all.
-Thanks
P.S. I agree with Deep Spacer; I could continue reading this short story for many more pages if they were ever to be written!
-Cheers |

The transition to the DED office was abrupt (and had me paging back to see if the link was incorrect) but the pacing and tension were excellent. I'm really looking forward to reading more of this author's work. ---
