I've heard that mining in low sec is much more profitable than in high sec. Trouble is, I'm not sure where to go.
Can anyone suggest some decent systems to mine in?
I know I will need to be careful, but if the money is there then I'm willing to try.
I've found some mining guides, and suggested ores, just not any systems
Any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I too find this topic of interest. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Ignore this mean pirate! He is a trickster - and the asteroids he speaks of are lame.
Head over to Nalvula/Jan/Taisy/Otsasai/Hakonen.
There are precious ores of Kernite there!
Veldspar asteroids as big as the eyes can see!
Scordite bolders that make even the most seasoned miner drool!
Don't bother without a mining barge however - these asteroids will be too big for a bantam.
May it rain isk in your wallet!

As thing stay today, low sec mining has little gains on high sec. Try kernite in high sec in the Amarr system or plagioclase in the Gallente systems.
I had luck in the past mining in low sec Minmatar, but currently the rewards are too loow to bother.

TBH, any good system that's posted on here won't remain good for long.
Best tip I can give is check the recruitment forum for low sec mining corps. Far better to go into these places fully prepared. _______________________________________ Comfortably Numb |

I am going to recommend mining in a system NOT listed in any forum post ever. Any thing that makes money thats posted in the forums becomes over farmed and/or pirate camp very very quickly.

Mining in low-sec simply is never worth it.
Yes I did try and indeed the asteroid belts are huge and gigantic since no-one ever mines them.
The downside is low-sec is full of player pirates which will happily pull over next to your ship and put a few holes in it. That, along with gatecamps and that you can usually get all you need in high-sec makes it nearly useless.
True enough, low-sec Caldari space offers huge Kernite asteroids and Amarr gives Jaspet (earliest source of Zydrine) but the cost you will probably end up paying for losing ships, equipment and implants outweigh any benefit you might gain.
When I tried a 0.4 system it was clear for about three to four hours and then I saw the first -9.8 sec rating pirate appear in local and I ran for the nearest station.
Is the ore better? Yes Is the ore plentiful? Yes Will you get more ISK taking in all the risks? No

Funny thing is, he was probably just going from gate to gate.

Even funnier it is when you think he is but really isn't and you get blown up.

I've had some success mining in gravimetric exploration sites in lowsec.
It's risky but worth it, Gneiss is pretty common in lowsec sites, which yields loads of highly valueable Zyrine. There's tons of pirates but they have to work to find you and as long as you have a degree of competency with the directional scanner you'll see them coming in plenty of time to dock up before they warp to you or get a BM to your site.
Rats can be rough on a barge though. Make sure you have at least T2 drones, a few levels of Drone Interfacing, stay aligned, and if you're not sure you can handle the rats or see a huge rogue drone spawn warp out and come back in a combat frig or cruiser. ----- My in Eve Profile

Look for a low sec system with few people in it, ideally that doesn't connect to much. If people are suggesting a system to mine, it's probably because they are sitting in the belts waiting to gank you. I've had some fun mining kernite in low sec (back when it was 300isk/unit), but I'm not sure if it's worth doing as your very likely to die.

Its funny how Kernite went from a 1 year high in price 2 weeks ago to a 1 year low in price 2 weeks later. Its almost as if the mission for it has been removed or is bugged. Better off farming for the higher grades of it now.
