Was planning on just buying a 90-day GTC to activate my account after the trial is over. Have 2 other friends who will likely do the same thing when they sub. How much time is lost though when doing this? I would imagine since the difference between a 30day GTC and buying the game out-right is $5 less, you would get less time for your first month? Or am I going to get the full 90 days? |

Not following your question.
If you buy a 90 day GTC you get 90 days. Period. More time codes just keep adding to whatever time you have banked (so if after 20 days you applied another 90 code you'd have 160 days banked).
You could fiddle with trying to think which way you can better save money but honestly the differences are not all that great whatever you choose.

Edited by: Zekael on 21/12/2007 22:33:38 What I'm asking is for activating an account from a trial. The game costs $20 to purchase and gives you 30 days free.
So basically what I'm asking is if I was to use a time card to activate it, as I've heard I can do, how much time would be lost since the money that each costs is different?
IE - 30 day GTC costs $15 Buying the game costs $20 but both give 30 days.
So if using a 30day GTC to activate my account as opposed to buying it, am I losing time since I'm not paying as much?
(Note: wouldn't be using a 30 day.. would be using a 90 day, but 30 fits the comparison better)
Edit: Basically, how much time would be banked if I used a time card to subscribe from a trial account.

Previously CCP had a policy to deduct 10 days when activating an account using GTC's.
However, there was a bug in the billing system such that those days were never deducted.
Instead of fixing the billing system, CCP choose to fix the policy.
You will be able to activate your account for $5 less by using a GTC.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. Not like I won't be giving them plenty of money in the long run. Just kinda want to make the most out of my money right now, since it's kind of tight at the moment. Hence buying more in advance for cheaper.

uhu, what Matalino said ... and getting a game time code is indeed cheaper, $15 as opposed to $20 for the first month's subscription
