Originally by: Kasheem Cetanes From what I have seen, it seems that the war between GBC, RSF, and The North is drawing to an end; probably with the defeat of GBC and a disbandment of bob in the next month or so.
Because BoB seems to be a very, very unifying force for goonswarm: is the end of BoB also the end of the swarm?
Personally, I think that when this war is over, Goon Swarm will have an internal conflict between more and less experienced players. I think that, when everything is said and done, that there will be more than one faction that will result, and at least one of these factions will be what goonswarm once was, back in syndicate (aka noobswarm).
Discuss! and don't flame me too hard
Who knows what will happen, one thing though, it's not over until it's over - everything else is useless speculation and a pure waste of time.

Why the hell do people assume BoB will disband when they lose their stations?! That assumption is one of the things that will make BoB even more lethal when they aren't tied down to any stations...

Just like LV and -V- were more lethal when they lost their stations. They said the exact same thing.
Both of them have since faded into the dustbin of history.

I'm sure RA and RAZOR agree that losing all your stations kills your alliance.

and their will not be able anymore to have fleets more then 3% of corp.

- BoB probably won't be gone in a month. The current SOV mechanics give a massive advantage to the defenders making taking a fortified system a long drawn out process, and we still have a few stations to go.
- We cannot control when BoB disbands, although losing all their space will only make them stronger and deadlier, just like V and LV.
- Most of us don't want to continue SOV warfare after this is over, we also don't really need any more territory. We probably won't go after anyone elses space, and I doubt anyone will make a serious attempt at ours.
- We like to shoot people, so will probably reset a lot of standings and fly around with smaller groups for fun rather than territory.
- We like to hear you guys cry on the forum, so I expect participation in Jihadswarm to skyrocket.
In short, once BoB is out of the way we will fortify our borders and find other ways to pew pew and have fun.

RA in fact did disband then reformed. RZR case is special - they didn't exactly lost their stations. They basicaly given them up being confident MC will leave the North and they will retake all their stations.
Alliance can be killed only by alliance leadership. Losing alliance assets can be enough moto for majority of weaker alliance to split up and fade into history.
BoB losing stations most likely will not result in disband, but the alliance it self will change. The only question is how will they change and how their future politics will look like.

From a purely neutral standpoint on this issue;
I believe you can relate the taking of an alliances stations to putting a player owned station (POS), into reinforced. When RMS lost most of their stations to the Royal Amarr Empire, we dined in Ibura for a while, boosting our power levels off the charts and becoming stronger than ever. What this allows the alliance to do is become hardened and more defined then it could be in a station system. We then proceeded to kick RME out of our stations and take them back, and now here we are today.

Predictions of the GBC disbanding within a month or so of this post were greatly exaggerated. I dunno about BOB but the coalition has suffered considerably more losses from the siege of delve as far as attendance is concerned than has BOB between now and your initial post.

The difference being that BoB these days is mostly made up of people from CORM and RISE and LV who have a history of jumping ship when their previous alliance lost all their space. If BoB was all ex-RA and RAZOR pilots then you might have a point.
