So I guess I don't quite get this even in the least but thats what makes it fun, yes?
Alright then. Lets see, why would you give away 100 million isk...
Ok, well based on CCP's "dynamic vision" in response to their "game of wonderful awesome" (this being to get ahead in the game by any means necessary by scamming, beating up, and otherwise sucking less than the next guy) you cannot possibly be giving away this isk for charity. Obviously there must be some hidden motive here...
OH. I KNOW. CCP WARNED ME ABOUT PEOPLE LIKE YOU!! THIS ISK HAS KEYLOGGERS!!11!1oneoneeleven
...wait no, that can't be right, 100 million key loggers would be a hell of a lot of overkill to just get my password...i mean you could just likeā ask meā (pssst itÆs 12345)
HMM WHAT COULD IT BE...
Maybe you are trying to get rid of it because..maybe it has some.. sort of.. adverse effect on you are you allergic to isk? I'd totally take one for the team and rescue you if you need it. Wait.. no.. maybe you're ADDICTED to isk! And you're trying to cut your habit! GOOD FOR YOU DON'T WORRY THOUGH, I CAN HELP (TheSystem's isk addiction hotline is open mostly all the time, but pretty much only some of the time (psst if you're embarrassed feel free to evemail me in game, no one needs to know about your private life) so leave me a message if you need help *wink*)
Assuming, however, that this isk has nothing to do with you IRL ... it would therefore be having an adverse affect on your in game character (ALSO assuming you're not one of those.. ughh dare I say it.. role players). So what kind of effect would warrant you giving away 100 million isk... humm... is it a bug? Is the isk bugged? Does it like.. eat other isk? Its ok.. it happens, jumping in and out of jita can and will have adverse affects on everything. Like getting your character eaten by the lag monster and ending up in like... jove or something, only to get a dev going "???!!?!? WTF?!?!" and having you going "WHERE ARE THE OTHER 799 PEOPLE? WAIT. WHY CAN I ACTUALLY TYPE... WTF MY TEXT ISN'T LAGGING. OH. SO IT APPEARS I AM NOT IN JITA." or something, idk, but man it happens to all of us (note -- it has never happened to any of us) So I guess if this isk was somehow bugged, you'd be trying to give it to someone here who could take it off your hands. I'd recommend trying to petition this parasitic-wallet-munching pile of currency you have, but honestly I think you and I both know how futile that would be... "OUR LOGS SHOW THAT YOUR PILE OF ISK MUNCHING..ISK.. IS NOT ACTUALLY A BUG BUT RATHER AN UNDOCUMENTED FEATURE."
***lol like how long this is so far? I'M IN YOUR THREADZ MUNCHIN YOUR PAGESPACE. NOMM NOMM NOMMM***
So I guess if this is some sort of isk that eats systems and crashes nodes (omg... revelation.. thats what happened to JITA! OMG! Defiler you dog ) you would want to get rid of it before you lose all your other isks. Of course, you would have to give it to someone capable enough to take it off your hands and not send it hurtling back into your wallet somehow. I can do just that! You see, my wallet is basically empty, so if you send me this 100mil or however much is infected by this point (don't let it bite you, and do not let it come in contact with more isk!) the infected isk will have nothing to feed on! It will (hopefully) starve and.. do something else.. well.. I don't really know where I was going with that . So. Whatever I guess i'll move onto additional speculation.
So back to the subject of CCP (we were talking about ccp? lol.. w/e) I think this might be part of their need for speed initiative! It think they think that by giving you this node-crashing wallet-nomming character-eating face-stomping bandwidth-crushing internet-choking client-breaking boot.ini-eating ****ty excuse for in game currency, they mean to get you (and whoever else gets infected) off their server!
**omg I ran out of space, continued in a new post

Ok, well, what was I saying.. oh yes. They are trying to get rid of us. A conspiracy, if you will. They think they can keep us off the server, thus reducing the load on the server and speeding it up for those few who didn't get taken down. WELL GUESS WHAT CCP. I'VE GOT YOU BEAT. I'll gladly take this isk, it won't have any friends to feed on in my wallet and guess what ELSE. I've got a windows disk. Yeah, another CCP-ultimate-plot-to-get-us-off-the-server bane, eat my boot.ini all you want because i'm gonna keep un-Nommmmnoommmmmming it and logging right back on.
Therefore. To sum up my post(s). Yes, we are seeing the first effects of an infected strain of isk, but fear not! It can rest safely in my wallet without harming any of yours. I will surely take one for the team!
I kinda lost my train of thought.

It's the day I cleaned my house. As such an important event, it's natural to have friendly competitions and so forth in the spirit of the day, and I suggest having a who cleaned gojyu's house the best competition, with 100mil isk as the prize money. I also put to you that I am the clear winner of such a competition, as I can say with absolute certainty that no-one in eve history has ever cleaned my house better than I, and I'd even go so far to say that no-one in the grand history of the game has ever even been able to attempt such a feat. Given that eve has something in the realm of 250k subscribers, I believe that being the only 1 in that multitude to have even the ability to attempt such a task makes me more worthy than anyone to claim the prize

This event is about being the 37th person to post. I would think it was fairly obvious why I win.
Why would he count himself as one? Thats not very competition-like to include to competition overseer as a COMPETITOR.
Guess I'm number 37 there bud
See Defiler? I'm even doing what you asked and discrediting other ppl lol

Technically you are both wrong. 37 people have not posted, although there are more than 37 posts.

Originally by: Anwar Krishna First and foremost, I would like to thank Mad Hermit Inc. for its generous hosting of this event so far... it seems to me, however, that the bonus round is destined to be winnerless.
Ethreal spacecowboy is seeking to change the conditions of the competition, which I doubt will end favorably, and TheSystem seems reluctant to split the money with us other two, according his evemail.
I've had fun participating... any excuse to do a little coding is a recipe for a good time in my book.
You leaving? Opting out?

Originally by: Anwar Krishna Well, barring a really good argument, a three way split is the only way I see any one of us getting anything out of this. If we try to decide on just one person getting it, chances are greed will prevent us from agreeing. Hell, chances are greed will prevent us from agreeing anyway.
And no, I'm not withdrawing.
My argument is that you are a young character and cannot effectively use an additional 100mil. You already have far more money than you can really use without wasting it, and wasting our time. I'm not trying to be greedy, i'm trying to be real. Ethereal spacecowboy and I have real stuff to spend it on, stuff that costs hundreds of millions of isk. We can effectively use the money, right now (not 3 months from now) so I believe one of us deserves it more than you.
Again, not greed -- Realism.
Thats my argument, whats yours?

Problem Solved.
The problem is, this is part of the competition, and defiler told us three to work it out between ourselves. Other people do not count, as far as I know.

Not surprised at all, tbh, only sad thing is that the original rules you posted were in direct contrast to rules you posted afterwards. Therefore, if anyone made any attempt to set something up originally that meant they were totally, dare I say it, screwed when you updated the rules because it would be easy to use the original plans against that person (cough, me).
Ty for hosting it, was fun.

Edited by: TheSystem on 02/01/2008 04:17:30 Erm, you're the host I just had questions about the rules, thats all. You made the rules so I decided to just go with that, and when they got changed I suspect my original actions were *probably* used against me as they really only applied to the first set. This is the reason why, I believe, I lost on the second time around.
And because of that..
What I recommend is just going with a clearcut, no changes, single set of rules for a competition next time. Maybe then there will be a little less gray area and will be less prone to give anyone an advantage or disadvantage because you won't need to switch .
Hope you aren't taking this as a whine or something btw, I'm just suggesting stuff for your next competition
