I don't think that it should help cost or effect it. Also, LP stores have a fair dictation on price.
My point is that a lot of faction gear is better than T2 but faction weapons are lame sick donkeys that no one uses. A slight buff that is effected by how many skill points a player has invested isn't going to break the game. Only enrich it further by giving players more options that are actually appealing. |

Prohibitive costs due to outrageous tag requirements keep me from putting Fed Navy Blasters on my Fed Navy Comet. This makes me a sad Federation Navy Pilot.
Somebody had an idea where Faction Navy weapons should get (very small and incremental) bonuses when put on Faction navy ships (the faction weapons were designed for the faction ships, or some other RP reason...). This was a good idea, IMO.

Sishen Gzi wrote:If you were to actually look at the stats for weapons you would see that in nearly all cases the factional mod is better then the T2 variant. Just for an example the Federation Navy Large Electron Blaster varies from the T2 in 4 stats, the factional mod requires less powergrid, uses 3/4 the amount of cap and does slightly higher damage, the T2 mod has a slightly longer optimal.
In 3 out of 4 cases the faction mod is better, and in cap usage it is way better. If factional mods were allowed to use T2 ammo why would anyone not use them, besides for the incredibly high price demand would give to faction guns.
As far as just letting the faction guns benefit from the weapons specialization but not use the T2 ammo, this is meaningless and the suggestion ignorant. The T2 guns do not benefit from the Weapon Specialization, the ammo does. A T2 hybrid firing factional ammo does less damage then a factional gun, the only time a T2 Hybrid gets a damage boost from the specialization is when firing T2 ammo, and that comes with a drawback.
You good sir, are an idiot. There is a 2% per level damage modifier bonus on the spec skills that applies to the appropriate t2 guns regardless of what ammo type it's loaded with. This is why t2 guns do more damage with the exact same ammo than faction guns. The faction guns do around 5% more damage than t2 without the spec skill. That corresponds to the spec skill at lvl3 and pretty much everyone trains it to lvl4 and some to lvl5.
Faction guns currently do less dps at shorter range than t2, end of story. |

Which is why they're lame sick donkeys and need to be buffed. Currently there is no reason to trade LP's for faction weapons as faction webs/points/Tank/damage mods are all so much better than T2.
A full rack of faction weapons on a ship would be a massive investment (8 Fed navy neutron blaster cannons for a vindi would be about 700 mill for guns ALONE!) and should give a decent advantage over T2. |

I wish I had some more choice on what to spend my LP's on other than faction webs and faction damage mods.

Faction weapons + faction damage mods gives almost exactly the same dps as T2 guns + T2 damage mods using the same non-T2 ammo, but are much easier to fit. Seems to be working as intended, IMO. |

But you can use faction damage mods with T2 guns for even better performance.
A faction point or faction web performs so much better than T2 for easier fitting too.
Faction tank performs just as good or better with easier fittings.
Also. One faction damage mod effects ALL of the weapons which is a far smaller investment than a full rack of faction weapons.

Have yet to see an issue with faction weapons compared to T2. Faction is meant to be a hold over till you train T2, not as a complete alternate. There have been numerous times I've looked at fitting faction vs T2 because it would improve the overall performance of my ship by allowing me to fit a better mid/low mod. If you saw a sudden boost in power of the faction items, it would increase costs of them and unbalance T1 vs T2 vs Faction. |

So explain why a lot of faction mods are BETTER than T2 in all respects. |
