Honoring a 1v1?

I agreed and reminded him of the rules of a 1v1 engagement, he told me he knew the rules and promised to keep to them. The fight begins and im clearly whooping him and i see local jump by 2. I check them out, ofourse they are in the same corp, ofcourse.. Next i have a Deimos and another mega on me. I hold my ground and almost killed the Deimos but one can only hold so many cap charges. Some pirate corps often insist that 1v1s are honoured, so you're safe with them. Generally, if someone seems dodgy or his corp seems dodgy, I'll refuse. Never had a 1v1 dishonoured after some 7-8 of them so far. Once had a goon-led squad jump in on us, but it was goon-led Damint, Surfin, when will I reach that level of forum whorage? Rifters!

Dromidas Shadowmoon Minmatar Storm Legion THORN Alliance	Posted - 2007.12.23 06:44:00 - [18] If you want to have a 1v1, make sure you've got corp mates sitting in the system with logistics and some sniper backup, that way if THEY don't honor it then you're not just screwed. I rarely 1v1, but when I do, I never do it alone. But my corp mates aren't called in unless they try to gank, it just depends on your own personal moral code honestly, my moral code says everyone lies so make sure you're ready when they do.

"carebear" that would honor them, i know lots of pirates/pvp-ers/mercs that will, and yet these are seen as the first to dishonor them. :( Rifter is not X-Wing CCP. Trinity model kinda sucks.

He pulled some stall tactic claiming he was out of drones and cap boost charges. My corpmate was nice enough to buy the items and give them to him with the understanding the 1vs1 would be honored. Then he kept stalling saying he didn't feel like it because he was too tired and had to rest. Yet he undocked and had the rest of his alliancemates warp in and gank my guy. His excuse was that he used a verbal loophole and that he was a mere pawn in the whole scheme of things. I told my comrades on vent that i would not use my 1v1 to get him out and about and away from the station and looked over the situation and indeed thought "i never agreed to it at this particular moment so it is not a official 1v1 so it is ok for my gang (of which i was not head of by a grunt in) to engage the pilot if he followed me off the dock ramp" Seems like old habits die hard.

The only people that have dishonored 1v1's before, in my experience, have been the local anti-pirates. Even if it isn't an "agreed 1v1"... well, there is 1 guy that called for backup, but he's new to the area, so I forgive that occurance

Tiger Hmm let's see, Silent is in his own "merc" corp within Crimson. He's the CEO too. I am better there will be no kicking of him from Crimson. If for some reason he does get booted, he will be set blue and return to Crimson shortly. Sounds like the time you said you would kick people for not posting losses. Can't kick yourself though from Crimson, can ya? You also said you would kick people who interacted with our corp and talking about alliance goings on etc, and that never happened either. No offense, but I don't think anyone believes anything that comes from a Crimson player. Incidents like this will just reinforce what everyone likely already thinks of your alliance, especially after my story on Eve-Pirate. Keep in mind, you not only have Silenthunter13 you would have to kick, you would have to kick the other 2 players because you know they knew what was up. It won't happen though.

I dare say that you and your former corp had very limited interaction with Crimson Federation aside from a short war of gank-tactics from both sides. I will be the first to admit that there have been ocassions in which 1 v.1 agreements have been broken, but as whole, the UPAY corporation lives by a strict code of honoring 1 v.1 fights and if we agree to it, we hold to it. End of story. One person failing to abide by this code is certainly a lot different than the entire corp having no honor.

Actually, if CEO reneges 1v1 you can say that corp has no honor. All corp members that care about honoring their word would resign in disgust or vote new CEO and kick the old (assuming they they had shares to do it). Same is true for alliance, as CEOs of member corporations are held to far higher standards than run-of-the-mill members. If Crimson Federation wants to stay honorable the only option left is to reimburse the pilot and kick Highly Visible from alliance (and set it KOS) but all that I know from Tigerfish Torpedo and his views about honor and integrity, I seriously doubt that will happen.
