Hey..
Ever since i switched to premium graphics, i have been more or less unable to run more than one account on my system. ItŠs like the whole PC lags when i start the second account, and i really have no clue why.
My system: Intel Core 2 quad 2.4 ghz, Asus Striker extreme nVidia nForce680i SLI mainboard, 4gb Kingston PC6400 ram, dual GeForce 8800 GTS 368mb, 1200W PSU, running XP pro 32-bit.
When looking at taskmanager, i can see that im using around 1500-1700mb memory, and around 15-25% CPU, and the CPU core temperature is around a steady 60 degree celsius.
I am running the game in windowed @ 1440 x 900 with high settings, it doesnŠt change much lowering shadow quality, cache size and turning off HDR..
Are EvE Trinity just not designed for multiple accounts, or is it just that much more demanding?

Whenever I use 2 clients my system crashes after a bit. My graphics driver crash. This started with the last patch, not the first Trinity patch.
One client is fine, allthough I have a very crappy framerate, I got half the fps a friend of mine has, while my system is like twice as fast as his.
My system has a C2Q 6600 and WinXP 32 aswell. But is ortherwise different.

I have a Q6600 too but I run mine at 3.2. Other than that I have a P5B Deluxe, 2GB RAM and a 8800GTS running at 650/2000. My system is Prime Stable and NEVER crashes but I can't run my four accounts. I don't run the Premium client which I have installed for the fun of it but after having logged the fourth account on one of my other clients crashes at random.
I am a computer enthousiast who has broken enough hardware to know that it's not a hardware issue but a software one. No other game crashes, no other windows application causes problems and the only time one of my clients disconnects is when I have all four on. Priar to the last patch I used to run 6 accounts on my E6300 but now I can't run 4 on a Q6600. The problem isn't my ISP either as I can run three accounts without problems but the moment I log a fourth on I get hit by the client bug.
I love the game and love to mine with 3 accounts but if this isn't solved soon then I will deactivate my last account after having set it to learn a really long skill, I don't want to do this but what other choice do I have?
Please CCP fix this.

I'm running two accounts on Premium, but without the HDR thing going on. Basically it does lag up a bit when you start the second one up. Be patient, and let it load up fully. Also the first time you undock either account it may take some time loading up.
It should be that all you need to do is wait for the system to catch up a bit.

My system: Core2duo E6600, 2gb ram, 8800GTS 640mb, Vista
After experiencing countless of crashes while running more than one client simultaneously, I think I've finally come across a possible solution: Turn off DEP (aka. Data Execution Prevention)
Yes, it's supposed to protect your system, but it has also been known to cause crashes in perfectly legitimate and working programs. You can specify which programs to exclude from DEP but for some unknown reason, when I try to do that with exefile.exe, it says that DEP cannot be turned off for that program... In Vista, you can access DEP by the following: - Select computer properties - Click on "Advanced system settings" on the left - Click on the Settings button for Performance - Select the "Data Execution Prevention" tab
To turn off DEP, you need to open a command prompt window with Administrator privileges. Just right click on the command prompt icon and select "Run as Administrator". Issue the command: bcdedit.exe /nx AlwaysOff
Other commands available are: bcdedit.exe /nx AlwaysOn bcdedit.exe /nx OptIn
Remember that DEP helps prevent viruses, spyware and malware from running on your computer so before you turn it off, make sure you have a good antivirus and firewall running!
Turning off DEP has allowed me to run at least 2 clients without anymore BSOD or any other type of crashes for the past 3 days. It might not work for everyone but heres to hoping...

DEP off might help things, but it's not the solution as it was the first thing I turned off on this install of the OS and still getting ALOT of performance loss with 2 clients
running one client full gfx is about 10-20% CPU load, when I load the second it maxes out
equipment is similar or better than others listed in this thread.. my having vista 64 might be the only difference but I doubt it's the direct cause
pre-patch I ran 5+ with little notice

So your CPU usage increases when you start another client? Mine is stable, might increase abit to 30%, but other than that, only memory usage increases, but doesnŠt exceed 2500mb.

Could it be insufficient ram on my GFX thats causing it?

Im having simular problems as well. I run my main account and every thing is fine and dandy. When I run both at the same time I encounter allot of flicking afer about 2 minutes. Is the new client capable of handeling 2 accounts at the same time? or is this a settings isue. I tried altering my settings several differnt times. all with no luck. The card I am using is an ATI 2600XT series.

I have had 2 accounts for over 6 months now, and upto trinity i could run 2 of them without any problem. Now when i alt tab to the second client, be it by going to windows first or swapping directly, my graphics are completely freaked out. I find it hard to describe it, the screen is in one blueish color and with alot of dashes in another color. I hear the sound allright, i even speak in ventrilio meanwile, also i notice a slight color change when alt tabbing or going to windowed mode. So everything seems to work allright, I just can't see anything and the only solution is a hard reset.

I run up to three clients at once or on a total res of 3840*1024 regularly, with the premium graphics i get close to no FPS (5 to 7 FPS in space), but when i run all three seperately, one on my XFX 7600 GT and two on the 7900 GTX (one client per screen(!)), i get framerates of about 17-40fps depending on where i am, in space with battle is sometimes down to 17 fps. not sure as what you see as horrible framerate though? I only set the shadows to medium or low when using more then one client on the same vidcard, helps alot.

Similar problems on a well spec'd PC (dual core, 3Gb ram 8800GTS) here.
My solution was to run Eve from 2 seperate installations, use the /end /LUA:OFF switches on the shortcut target eg "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" "/end /LUA:OFF"
I also run the cache @ low
Make sure you select seperate graphics "cores" for each installation. This is stable for me with 50+ fps on each

Try rebooting? Sometimes I'll launch the second client and it just crashes both (no i'm not logging in the same account) Reboot the laptop and I can run 3 Client's until the memory leaks eat up all the ram and crash.
Some if it has to do with you cache setting, Try turning it down works kinda sorta for a short while on my laptop.
Nothing works for long times, EvE seems to once more have more memory leaks than the titanic. Stay Chilly & Watch Your Six!

Running the same setup, i can now run 2 accounts with premium content without problems.
I lowered shadow quality and cache to low on both accounts. Still it lags when i start both accounts, but if i shut the second client down, and start it up again, it runs smooth with 20-60 fps in missions with heavy load.
If it helps anyone else, iŠd like to know

Just FYI - with a 32 bit OS you only have 4gb maximum addressable memory, and your graphics cards and other system devices will subtract from that.

I am trying to run three accounts at once, but after a few minutes, eve will go unresponsive and hog my ram up. I have tried setting processor affinties and changing exe priorities. Here's a screenie of my task manager. I have been trying to capture this wil CCP's log program, but it won't save the logs before it crashes. Any thoughts?
Take a look at the CPU and memory usage... Taskmanager Pic Note, that was just with two accounts.

i run 2 accounts just fine..every now and then its like my cache fills up and i get some glitchiness on one or the other but rarely. both accounts run at around 50-60 fps in windowed mode at 1400x900 w/ hdr off and caching at normal. vsync is off (interval immediate) and AA is off.
What i do is run the default shortcut for my main, and then run my alt's account off of another shortcut that looks like this for me: F:\games\CCP\EVE\eve.exe /end /LUA:OFF
seems to make a separate cache file or something for as long as i use both shortcuts only for those accounts the settings stay memorized and have no issues.
System - Asus CROSSHAIR - EVGA8800gts OC 640mb - 2gb corsair xms - AMD Athlon 64x2 6000+ (3.0ghz) and WinXP OS
well those are the parts mostly contributing to my gaming performance anyway.
