I made this character the other day, but all I can see is a blank space where it should be. What can I do to bring it back? I also have this issue with an Amarr shuttle I have with another character, its pitcure does not show up.

If you are talking about the avatar for the forums, then welcome to faceless anonymous. I have been playning this toon for close to 3months and I still have no face.
If you are talking abouth the log in screen then I have not a clue as to the problem.

Hey guys,
What you can try doing in right clicking on your ingame character portrait and click generat portrait or save portait and see if that works, sometimes with new characters I have noticed that it takes some time for the images to update. Also check your eve cache folder you will find it in documents and settings>your name>application data>ccp
delete the cache and start the game up again it might be corupted, hope this helps

The forum portrait takes some time to cshow up, while the ingame portrait should be showing up, once you click it in a chat channel.

Thanks guys. It's the in-game portrait I'm concerned with. I've tried both your suggestions.
I can search for myself using the 'People and Places' tool and see my portrait fine, however in the Character Sheet and top left of the screen it appears blank, even after capturing my portrait from People and Places.
As for the cache, I couldn't find the folder you mentioned, the closest I have was C:\Documents and Settings\'My Name'\My Documents\EVE. I deleted the folders here, 'capture' and 'logs' but my profile picture will still not show.
Any other thoughts?

What's odd is that it's just this one character. Is it an Achura/Khanid/Vherokier character by chance? I had a friend who's video card for some reason couldn't render the portraits on any of the three 'Asian' races, so they didn't show up right. That's about all the info I can offer on the subject. Maybe ask a GM?

No it's not. I'll send a petition then I guess. Just thought I'd send a feeler out here to see if it was a problem well known or easily resolved.

For those of you interested, it was an issue of the cache, I was just clearing the wrong folder. The folder I was advised to clear (and worked) was
'C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVEö if you are on Windows 2000/XP and ô%LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE'
