What I mean is, what defines an ALT. I see a lot of corporations saying they won't take an ALT. Now, I know technically it means an alternate character, usually one not played as often as the "Main."
But what if you don't consider yourself to have an alt, but instead, two main characters, on two separate accounts, equally played. AND you'd like them to be in different corporations of different natures so as to experience different styles of group dynamics/play.
You're not a spy, have no intention of spying and in the unlikely event that one of your corps actually war decced the other, you have no intention of playing the spy.
So, why are "Alts" or rather characters in different corps so frowned upon. Seeing as how this game has so many people with 2 toons, I find it hard to believe that they are all in the same corp, or in newbie corps.
Makes no sense to me. And I think, forces people to lie, and limits a corporations growth.

Cuts playtime, dedication and loyalties in half. Mightn't be much of an issue for a carebear corp/alliance, but if you're even half-serious about pvp, that just ****s you.

and theyre gunna just take your word for it on that? Sorry, theres way too much metagaming going on here that corps would like BOTH of your characters in their corp just to be a bit more secure.

I'm all for the concept of two mains, but having them in different player corps is pushing it IMO. -

I have 5 mains, man. They do what I want, when I want. And 3 are in player corps. I spy, but those are with actual alts that have less than 1m sp. *FYI not spying currently :(* Truth is, just say it is your main. How will they know?

Ditto. The odds of them figuring it out are next to zero. Unless you posted with one of your mains, that is.

Most players don't have two or three characters with equally distributed play time. They play with one char most of the time and corporations would like to recruit that char - not the ones that the player logs on just once in a while to just change some skills. This is what recruiters mean when they say they don't want alts. The situations where you spend time equally on two or three characters are quite rare and even if you claim this to be the case corp aren't gonna just take your word on it. It's frowned upon because it is assume that you aren't really going to put in much group effort since you got an "alt" in the corp rather than your main.
