Hi,
little question: Anyone also having issues with the local chat window? I always have local as a seperate window so i can see it all the time even when reading corp or private chats.
Now since trinity with every client restart the local window goes back to its origin next to corp chat etc. Before it used to remember the last position where i had it. Actually i find this rather annoying. Is there a way to make him remember?
Also when i am in empire i prefer to ignore local because its full of spam. So i merge it back with the other windows. But then the headline will always blink when someone says smthg. in local. Now unfortunately the client also forgets the blink off option. I don't even have to relog but it will just reset to "blink on" at an (apparently) arbitrary point in time. Not so crucial as the other issue but still...
I cannot really believe that this is a feature. So i am probably a big ui nub! Please enlighten me how can i make the local remember my preferences?
ty in advance

I think we should just make people not show up in local chat until they speak.
then there wouldn't be such a big need to always keep it on top

This is probably caused by corrupted settings/cache. I suggest you try to clear your window settings by:
1. Pressing ESC 2. Go to "Reset Settings" Tab 3. Click "Reset to Default Window positions"
If that doesn't work. Try clicking the "Clear all Cache files". Please let us know if that worked or if you find a solution to this problem.

I have also problems keeping local window at same place. Also size/place of selected item window seems to behave a bit oddly.

By 'client restart' do you mean 'client crash'? Perhaps it's only saving on clean shutdowns?
I've got this too, but I've not had a clean shutdown in weeks :p

Same odd thing happens here. Since Trinity the Local-Chat allways gets moved into one stack with corp-chat.
Resetting window-positions/chache and/or deleting Cache-Folder etc, did not help anything. .

I did some testing today and the local window seems to only remember the settings for the system you're located at when you log in.
For example, if you set your local window location in Jita and travel to Rens, you won't notice anything. Once you log out in Rens and then log back in, however, the window will reset back to the default location (with the rest of your chat windows, probably). If you go back to Jita and log out/in, your local window will revert back to where you set it originally. The same seems to apply to the "blink" setting.

It may be a cache problem, and it may be a corrupted window settings problem but it happens to a LOT of people and doesn't seem to last long after it's fixed.
At least 5-6 of the guys in my corp have been having this problem and we were just talking about it the other night. Couple days earlier I installed a fresh copy of Eve on a computer that had never had Eve installed on it before. All it took was a couple logins and logouts before my local window gets stuck again.
Each time I log in I have to drag it off the rest of the windows and put it back where it was before.

That's so absurd it's probably true.

It also makes sense; technically, the name of that channel isn't "Local", it's "Jita Local Channel" or similar, if I'm remembering my snooping around in the monitor window correctly.
