This just started today. After logging in for a few minutes the monitor turns to nothing but vertical lines of different colors. This happens only when running EVE. Has anyone else had this problem? I haven't updated any drivers or anything recently. No changes. Any ideas or suggestions?

Wild guess but maybe your screen refresh rate maybe set too high for the resolution you are trying to use.

Edited by: Eisha on 19/03/2004 19:00:55 I only had that problem pop up once or twice. It was happening when the game would freeze (freezing my whole comp.) That actually turned out to be my sound card drivers. Which was the last thing I looked at. I know it only bares a vage simularity to you problem, but you haven't said if you tried updating the sound card or turning down the hardware accleration.

I had that problem but with every game and with my computer in general. Turned out the fan on my graphics card had burned out so the card was not cooling properly and was causing my card to over heat and eventualy it died and I had to get a new one

If you are running the latest reference drivers for your video card (reference drivers come from the chipset manufacturer, not from Windows Update nor the board manufacturer), try rolling back to a previous version to see if that helps. Also, checking the temperature of your video card may bear fruit, as that is a known symptom of over-heating. --------------------------------------------------

The vid card fan is still running fine, The problem started with the old nvidia drivers, I updated to the new ones and still had the same problem. I have been running the latest sound drivers for about a year. Did a check for virus. I can't check the vid card temp but since the fan is running and I haven't overclocked the card it should be ok.
Any other ideas?
