Edited by: Karusho on 29/12/2007 22:53:57 Don't know if this has been mentioned yet but if you're in space and are looking at your ship and you start right clicking and zooming in fully to different directions constantly eventually it'll sorta break the camera and make everything look way more awesome, stargates, stations and other ships will actually feel bigger or smaller. It's hard to explain but it is really cool looking.
Not too sure why it does this, maybe because the camera spins slower or the ships gets smaller. |

Now, there's two things you can do with the camera:
Move it closer to the target object. This keeps the background looking in the distance. And is done with the scoll wheel or simultaneous clicking and dragging of RMB and LMB.
Zoom in. Makes the background seem closer too, done by holding the RMB and moving the mouse and clicking the LMB then dragging.
Now in the old days, you used to be able to move the camera drone very close to your ship. But as models changed, and new models were added the camera is unable to move close to some ships, it seems somehow blocked (most notably the tier 2 BC had this problem).
Zooming the camera gives the ship texture a bit of an ugly look so it's a shame that this is the case. I wish CCP would fix it. -- Banned since 2005, back by popular demand! They said it wouldn't happen!! |

I'm pretty sure you're talking about zooming VS tracking the camera. Yeah, zooming in makes everything look cooler, I agree.
