Was playing just fine earlier today, then dc'd out of nowhere with connection lost. I had some errands so no big deal, but now a couple hours later, I still can't see the server. Game client sits on "checking status" and progs like evemon are telling me the servers down, when I know it's not as the forums didn't explode.
I can connect to just about any site I can possibly think of, 2 other mmos, and even put a call into my isp to make sure it wasn't an issue on my end. Was annoying at first, but now it's been 5 hours and I'm getting plain frustrated.
wth?

Edited by: Rman on 30/12/2007 00:22:44 I am having the exact same problem. What ISP you using? I am on Road Runner with BrightHouse. I cannot connect with EVEMon either. I cannot even connect the the TS server I was on. Obviously I can still connect to the web.

I've got Insight RR, which honestly 99% of the time is just about one of the best ISPs to have, I'm really not used to ANY down time.
And yea, same thing here, I can connect to web/irc/aim/etc but no eve server. Seriously driving me up the wall as I was in the middle of a really large haul /sadface.

Well, since you have tried two other MMO's i'm going to guess that WoW runs fine. There is a sticky that explains how to get eve running on a diffrent port. I believe it was using the WoW port so you might have some luck with that. Haven't tried myself, so i have absolutely no idea if it really works but it might be worth a shot.
Also, it's getting out of hand with these ISP's... Blocking random ports because they are being used! ohnoes! _______

I tried to do a traceroute to the tranquility server. This is what I get:

I actually ran acrossed that when I was searching the forums before posting and just got done trying it out to no avail. @Rman same here man. My traceroutes die at ccp.ve201.fr3.lon.llnw.net [87.248.208.150]. Calling London: Hi, the hamster fell off the wheel or died, please fix kthanx.
Curious why it seems to only be effecting a few people tho. As fascinating as the reason, I just want to freaking play already lol.
Edit: Lol Sleep, 'anus' is not profanity! Was trying to quote this.

I was wondering why it was happening to so few also. It may have to do with our ISP. RR is known to block torrent traffic using a algorithm to detect when it is happening. The same algorithm may be causing a false positive with our eve traffic. I don't know.
