I was just wondering, how much stuff is produced by npcs in eve? Do all t1 items get made by them?

Edited by: MotherMoon on 30/12/2007 10:45:40 no tech 1 items are made by missions (not for long) and players :)
they made trade goods, (like cows) and they make basic skill books (that people in jita buy for more than NPCs sell them!)
a few others I think.

Edited by: Venkul Mul on 30/12/2007 10:55:24 I think some basic item are NPC produced (those with the term basic or civilian in the description) and sold at or near the starting stations.
Some T1 ship and module are NPC produced, but the prices are normally not competitive with PC produced/looted items, the function is only to guarantee that starting players will have access to basic equipment.
Generally you can recognize NPC produced modules as they have a 365 days -time for the last DT duration for the sell order.

CCP devs have stated that they want to substitute most of the T1 items in the loot tables.
Some people think they will be substituted with named loot, other with nothing.
Judging on past changes of this kind it will be like 90% nothing + 10% named loot that will become wortless very fast.

here
hammerhead says he wants to remove tech 1 from loot tables. and that he'll get around to it. with the size increase they aren't wroth getting so they will be replace or not replace and just taken off.
this will make mining more profitable!
might not be the best choice but it's being made.

I looked into this last month and the only T1 items available from NPCs in Essence were a few of the crap low-end frigates that no one ever uses, and medium to long range small ammo.

Exactly what I mean, items mostly used by new players (I recall using a lot of irons small ammunition in my starting days) with little or no impact on the player driven market.

I don't want to see standard items being replaced with 'named' items. It would affect and ruin any market ? Who's the genius that came up with that kind of change to begin with ? If we stay with the basics of standard items and maybe with the *named items put a higher required skill level I still wouldn't want those items being NPC made but as drops. What's the point of missions if you can't find those 'rares' to begin with ? There is always a market for standard items within the player base I see that every day.
I also see changes in the market for standard items as well as T2 items. Players who can 'buy' up items cheaply and move them to other regions where there is a greater demand for them ;-).
