The new High-Res patch has been out for a few weeks now, however I do not meet the minimum requirements. I am ready to upgrade.
Basically, I don't have enough memory, and my ancient GeForce FX5200 128M sucks.
I have already ordered the memory from tigerdirect, but I'm still not sure what to buy when it comes to a video card. The age old question returns, ATI or Nvidia. I am unbiased as I have had success with both. Either way, I'm going to have to spend a few hundred bucks.
I guess I'm just looking for some opinions from people who play EVE. And how well their card works for them. I'm not looking for a cheap card, but not top-of-the-line either.

Thank you Garia666 on that heads up. I was indeed looking at the xfx cards. I will stay clear of them.
I wish I had pci-express but im still stuck with agp 8x until my next MAJOR computer upgrade.

Thanks Thuul'Khalat for your input. Have you had any issues running software other than EVE? Perhaps his problems might be a hardware conflict, I donno. I still get nervous when I'm about to spend a few hundred bucks; as I have had a few graphics cards fail on me in the past. Ill still keep your success in mind.

Thanks Zhalakin, I guess the worst that can happen is that I buy one, and return it if it fails.

It seems like Nvidia is the choice. Now all I need to do is find one in AGP. Otherwise I may be up for a MB change sooner than later.

Yeah Strathis Mikluk your right. Im still reeling after the Xmas shopping binge. I probably wait another month until after income tax and go all out. I get impatient tho, heh.

I guess I'll be patient. I've needed a system overhaul for sometime now. I know I'd be wasting money on a card:( Sheesh, I do get impatient big time tho. But everyone is right, its just alot more money than I care to spend. But sometimes you gotta stop fixing that old car that keeps breaking down, and just buy a new one:(
*sigh*
Its only a month, I can wait.
