So i have a video ready to encode but since i have no taste in music i really have no idea what sort people like in videos. I hear a lot of metal etc but im not reaLLY an expert on that sort of thing or anything to do with music. Its 17:30-18 minutes long so im guessing 3 long songs or probably 4 shorter songs. So any suggestions, i really dont care. Just say something you like and ill try dl it and put it in.
THanks

You'd get more points for something different than the usual stuff, from me at least. I cant suggest anything without having seen the footage, but try for some music that matches the tempo of the fight.
You should really plan your video around the music though, it is FAR easier than adding the tracks at the end and hoping they will "fit".

Youre quite right to ask tbh. The mistake a lot of people make with vids is that they go for music they like without considering the fact that just because they like it, doesnt mean anyone else will. theres no right or wrong answer to this question but heres a few tips that might help. firstly, try not to use anything thats been used before. secondly try not to use anything too cliche, the more original the better. thirdly, try to choose something that compliments what is going on in the video, and this is easier said than done. and dont just lay a track down, be creative with it and try to sync your video to the soundtrack so whats going on on the screen matches to some extent the effect of what youre hearing. hope this helps

Lots of people ask this question, and i've always answered the same. Pick something that fits with your video. Sorta like a house style. If it's fast paced action then you want something rocky, or fast paced techno sorta music (for example).
If it's an intro in your video and it works up to something, then find music that fits with your introduction.
however, it is very difficult to try and fit music to a video. But much easier to fit a video to music (if you get me?) hope this helps.

If by "Your sig burn is weak" You mean that "Orar is obviuosly alot cooler then me and I fail Very hard" Then i concur with your statement |

Something which most people will like is the answer. So like, offensive rap crap with n***er every other word is out, as is most metal and the real extremes of music.
Just pick something popular (drum n bass was the last 6 month's craze, no clue what it will be now ) and work the video to the music.
If I put in the kind of music I liked, I doubt anyone would watch my movies (with the sound on at least). I mean, I like things like pendulum, dnb, trance, dance, house, and other things which most people can stomach, but if I had my way, every movie would be loaded up with Ska. Ohh yes. The kind of ska that I think is the most awesome **** in the world, which other people wouldn't listen to for more than 20 seconds 族---族

i know a few ppl have said it but its sooooo much easier and effective to pick the music first then fit the footage into the music syncing the footage to the music in subtle but effective ways..
As for different types of music DnB is a safe one to go for as it fits in whell with eve vids but i admit most of its been done to death (some of the songs ive used for mine have also been done to death but i atleast wanted to use them once because i <3 them) and tbh most good metal/rock songs for eve videos have also been used a lot but id say go for one of those types but find cool ones that havnt really been used much..
And lofy i hope the next craze is dance/trance/techno music - im so using some in a video cos tbh its my favourite but its hard to fit in with eve vids (and omg i you tubed "ska" - wtf lol)

Regardless of what anybody says tho.. the most important thing imo is to use what you enjoy. Dont use pendulum because everybody said pendulum would give ur vid hits. Create your own vibe and im sure somebody is gonna enjoy it

Like most of people said - it depends on the fight. I would suggest something with fast tempo like Rock, Metal(just please not death metal) or Techno ( with techno i mean all synthesised music like trance, breakbeat, drum and bass, acid, dance, etc etc..).
If your fights are monotonic like 1vs1 then your song should be like that. If you fly a nanoship, then i personaly think the best would be some trippy music like trance or drum and bass ... If you're in intense fight with lots of ppl dying like 1 vs many or gang vs gang, then i would suggest you use some fast, strong tempo (enough to nod your head when listening to it :)) and melodic lyrics or guitar songs.
if you're looking for specific artist then i would suggest:
Linkin Park LostProphets Muse Pendulum Prodigy Metallica
i hope this helps

Yes, I also think that you should use the same horrible music that everyone else has been using in all their videos! Use music that you think fits your clips, or vice versa. Also use music that is fun to listen to. That's the point of dorking out and making/watching a pc game fan video, FUN. Besides that, it looks like you're about completely new to making videos, so if you screw up? who cares! Take any good criticism, and build from there.

Hehe I know your pain. I go through literally hundreds of tracks to find something I like and fits with what I want in the vid. Sadly this tends to always end up as a mental Noisia track if it's PVP, so I've had to branch out a bit for new projects before I get flamed. :D
Render the vid down, go through your mp3 collection with it playing and generally something will just click. Though I must say you'll probably end up re-touching your vid to fit with that magic tune at the end of it all.

I remember when I was a nuublet and downloaded one of my first eve-movies of this section and some guy had made 2 versions of his movie, one techno-electronic-trance-kinda version and one version with metal.. i guess this is a way if u want as many as possible to like it, but if u do this, the timings and stuff need to be worked for both versions if its gonna end up beeing good so it would be twice the work.

Personally I think all this metallic songs in eve videos makes no sense at all, its not spaceish in anyway, I think its not at all in line with the vibe the footage gives you. Some ppl manage to get it just right, but some ppl take some metal songs just because everyone else does it and you can really tell..

wow lots of responses. Im kind of getting the idea. Originally i just wanted to get it uploaded so some of my buddies could see but ill have a look round. Its not necessarily that i dont understand that it has to fit etc its just i dont know what to look for when considering eve movies. From what ive heard i generally like Metal if its done right. But i also like D&B/dance when its done right. But im a complete nub in those genres and dont know which bands/Djs are good etc.
