oops, i forgot it again, that s exactly what ppl want...
No that''s not what people want. That would be just as boring. What people want is the thrill of the chase.
I myself would like to see pirates analogous to sharks of the sea or a pride of lions roaming the wild. Patrolling. Hunting. Stalking their prey. And I''m pretty sure that''s what CCP would like too. Yeah it is harder than just sitting their, but its more of a thrill when you get your victim because you''ve earned it.
Think about the most successful predators on Earth. The lion is considered king of the predators, but in a days work one pride will only get 1 out of 7 animals it attacks. Yes, even with a successful predator, 80%+ get away. The same is true for sharks, leopards, tigers, etc. But that just makes it all the more sweet when you do get your prey. The climax of the stalk is when you finally get to your prey captured and helpless in your evil web of scramblers and webifiers, and you sink your tachyon fangs into the juicy metallic hide of your prey and watch its plasma-like blood spew into the cold darkness.
But to do that players must more active in their pirating. Patrolling the belts and stations. Jumping into regions where they''ve detected elevated activity and taking a look around the belts and station in hopes of finding a mining ops underprotected.
But alas, do we get pirates like that? No. Despite the efforts of CCP to entice pirates into more creative and active gameplay, we mostly get lazy, boring gate parkers that act more like dull-old swamp frogs waiting for some flies.
*sign* how dull
LOL!
Comparing pirates to one type of animal. How funny is that?
Try pirating a while, then come back and share your new wisdom with us. Everything else is theoretical ******* and not worth reading it, regardless of how much poetry you will try to put into it. That log off function a.k.a. "80%+ get away", map radar and safe spots and uber sentries in 0.4-0.0 destroy allmost all pirating possibilities.
The only time we have success at hunting miners is when they are AFK or understimate us and we break once again our record of using the scanner and have a good warp in point to the victims. -- Stories: #1 --
