Mauraders are not now and never will be pvp ships. They are strictly pve toys for those who already have a set of full Estemel fitted faction mission ships.

Either way their meant to kill things and paying 800mil for a ship that is equaled in a 100 mil ship is quite poor.

Thats not the point. Its just something rich empire mission runners can train for and buy to give them a cursory isk sink. And with top skills and fittings like most mission runners have it will greatly outperform any T1 ship in mission effectivness. Except for the golem and the tendacy for npc defender spammage to unduly nerf its salvo. Give the golem a role bonus of 100% health to missiles and its fixed.

Originally by: Aneu Angellus So a tech 2 battleship known as a Marauder....is meant for the empire care bears who don't venture outside of safe space. CCP spent their entire time working on these ships for them not to be used in combat when in actual fact this game is based around combat.
You are correct.

Geared toward versatility and prolonged deployment in hostile environments, Marauders represent the cutting edge in todayÆs warship technology. While especially effective at support suppression and wreckage salvaging, they possess comparatively weak sensor strength and may find themselves at increased risk of sensor jamming. Nevertheless, these thick-skinned, hard-hitting monsters are the perfect ships to take on long trips behind enemy lines.
lol. Thats rp fluff mate. Most missions have you going 'deep behind enemy lines' in the mission description. Read some descriptions for the ships. You'll outright lol at most of them especialy the Amarr ones.

Yeah as long as you don't mind risking it then theres no real reason not to pvp with them especialy if you have support to handle the ew and tackling. Being the eternal primary must suck though. Unless of course this is being used at a gatecamp to pop passing newbs.

Hmmm. Thinking about it Maurauders might just be intended for 0.0 ratting. Combine one with an alt in an indy or better yet a Domi with all cargo expanders so you can get both ammo and drone refills plus repairs and you could live out in unfriendly stationless regions for a veeeeery long time. Add in a third alt in a cov ops to run faction mods into empire and you wouldn't have to dock for weeks or even more and do it all on one account to boot.
runs off to finish skilling up for a Golem
