So I was wondering I have been looking around and saw that this is an option for a specialization but I was wondering if it is practical? In SWG and WoW I played support roles and I would like to continue that but only if corps want people like that and if their is any demand. So thats my newbie question is it worth it?

In larger gangs, such as fleet and alliance warfare, logistic ships are able to save the day. Consider them if you plan on flying grandiose battles.

I've flown in the pitcrew for the goons before providing logistic support and it was a ton of fun. If I ever go back to 0.0 that's what I want to do in fleet battles.

Yep, I'd try and stick with guardian/basilisk though as they get the energy transfer bonus. -=^=- "Someday the world will recognize the genius in my insanity." |

this isn't really 100% true.
they are great in 10 man fleets as well.
the point is YES, corps and alainces love logistics ships.
I am a full time logistics pilot.

the scimtar has the highest survival rate thought with the lowest sig radius.
plus tracking links are awesome :)

Flying a scimitar is a lot of fun, its fast and eats interceptors / dictors, and can remote rep shields at 71km its a great ship, it also ooooooodles of capacitor so it can nearly perma mwd very easily and acts as a heavy tackler like a vagabond

lets see once you have logtisics...
it will take... about 25 days to get another races ship.
so yeah :P
but that's ok because the caldari logistics ship is badass.

I recommend watching the day 1 Enelais Vs. Namtz'aar k'in match
tell me what you think of dual logistics set ups.
you see by having the two caldari logistics ships remote cap repairing each other they create free cap! then they send out shield reps to the gang.
the ruppys are using nuets and passive tanks.
to boost the effect of the logistics.
because better resists makes the logistics suport much more powerful.
while the nuets kill the other teams cap and thus tanking ability.
after this match I had to go on a trip and they went active tank and then caldari set up and failed... :( but this one fight was great!
also in the 1st part of the fight you can see a cruiser tanking 3 battleships (between ECM and stuff) becuase of the huge bonus.

The only problem with logistics ships in a PVP gang is they tend to get call primary and pop as soon as they are spotted.
One use I've found them great for is group mission ops. As soon as the tank has the aggro the logistics warps in and starts repping. I have an alt with a Scimitar and can run 4x large T2 shield reps full time which is about 1600 shield every 4.5 secs.

last time I was in a gang the heavy dictor got called.
