Yo,
I just read this about a new mmo..............a pirate mmo. Anyway, their are some similarity's with eve online. The first one being that the entire economy is player driven. The combat system is sorta like eve combat....where you have to factor in alot of things. I wonder how it will be....I will deffinetly try a demo is available.
here is the link Linkage

I suspect you'll be sorely disappointed. I certainly was.

WoW is more fun. Seriously.
I played the beta....or I should say, I didn't play the beta. I installed it and played for about 4 hours, then stopped. ------ Any factual errors or mistakes in spelling and grammar should be attributed solely to me and not my nation of origin. |

I'm in the beta (well, I was before I deleted it off my computer) and I wasn't impressed with it.

Extremely disappointed in the graphics, structured levelling scheme, and balance in the game. The ship combat is fairly good but the ground game just sucks the big one. Heavy lag in some ground areas. Really really bad avatars and an extremely limited character morphing system. Only 5 faces to choose from. Logoffski's and a few exploits are commonplace and have yet to be addressed. Economy is good in concept but their auction house system needs an overhaul.
Its called PIRATES of the Burning Sea but the pirates are gimped beyond funny. PvP is limited to 5 vs 5 with contested city combat 25 vs 25. Without economy skills nor real fleet skills it takes some incredible pirate captains to take mediocre Nationals in all departments. The only real selling point is being able to capture a ship and use it for yourself or sell it...to another pirate only (who is capable of capturing his/her own ship).
Its understandable to try and push for realism in some games but if you're going to name a game PIRATES of the Burning Sea you would think you would see more dedication towards piracy and pirates in general. It seems to be the opposite.
And finally, I understand that there is a general lack of IQ on these forums. But would it hurt to try and do a search? I believe there are several already well documented threads about this particular game.

well as someone else noted, I have been following this game from when I played pirates of the Caribbean (the first game on pc). It looked great on paper though, but after trying the beta I was really disappointed. Wonder what the reviewers say.

You know within hours if you're going to be playing a game long. This most certainly wasnt one of them for me. WOW with ships and water thrown in.
