Edited by: Knefru Khamen on 21/03/2004 19:41:22 Same problem here; it only seems to affect Minmatar stations. I also note that billboards have no screen at all. However, the jaggy effect on Ammar stations seems to be reduced. ---

I thought that's what these stations looked like! ;-) Reminded me of Disney's 'The Black Hole' kind of ghostly. Then after reading this I remembered I'd just upgraded the Nvidia drivers for BFV... The billboards are transparent apart from a scolling banner at the base of the screens saying 'This space for rent'!? (on some) Is this an EVE marketing idea. Also since the last patch I'm getting a lot of exception popups everytime I get near a billboard. The error was refering to a billboard file. Seemed to indicate the file had moved directories. So I copied the named file from another directory to the one it was refering to. The exceptions stopped. The boards are still only showing the banners though.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
The only thing I can recommend is to try to rollback to your previous drivers if possible. We all must wait for nVidia to come out with new version of their driver it seems for this to be resolved. --------------------------------------------------

Yeah, have done, for all those who are currently using Nvidia GPU's (cuz they rock ) Detonator 53.03 ( last official WHQL release ) works perfectly.
And thanks for replying

This problem is not limited to the 56.xx drivers. I saw this problem also with the 53.03 drivers.

No matter if I use 53.03 og 56.64, sun occlusion *STILL* doesn't work. Like after, what is it now, 10 months of Eve?
. . . Awaiting more and hi-bit rate music - with bated breath ... |

The sun occlusion under 53.03 works on my GF4 TI4800 but not on my GF3 equipped machine

I also thought that's what they looked like!
Except for the flumes of fire coming out of um...nowhere. That was odd.
Ok, patching tonight. Or, unpatching. Rolling back, yeah that's it. :) -------

Edited by: Commander Stringer on 29/03/2004 18:07:26 ok the Gainward 56.55 release is also as bad, in stations this driver set causes avatar corruptions, either the backgrounds are missing or the avatar itself is not rendered correctly. I think this is going to be a common issue with the 56.xx series of detonators. But i don't think this is specific to the driver, i'm pretty sure there are flaws within Eve's 3D engine ( 53.03 + Mim stargates with 'rolling' texture effects ) A post by ISD earlier in this thread said we have to wait for Nvidia to fix their drivers. I disagree, CCP should concentrate more on gettin the engine rendering properly aka aforementioned Mim gate texture probs and the flickering textures on Ammar stations. And as ISD are not the Dev's I think that comment wasn't nessessary

NVIDIA has been made aware of the issue and they are looking into it as they are able.
1) Missing Billboard gtraphic 2) Missing station textures 3) Pulsing light from suns 4) Sun occlusion issues

Oh boi, kroovy
One thing though - I get REALLY ugly flickering and wobbling when running two clients at the same time. It's really unbearable, and headache-inducing. Started happening with 56.64 (and still happens with the newly released 56.72).
Ciao, Aronis!

I wont say (rhymes with hiss) cos you obviously have taken offense but that grammar***** up in the last post wasn't my fault they chopped the next word out. In all fairness lets hope nvidia get their act together in the next batch of video cards out later in the year, but I remember when the fx cards were due they were supposed to be the answer to all our prayers then. Months on and my dad who owns one and plays the game cant see our beloved minmatar stations in all their glory. He thought thats how they were suppose to look too

I have the same problem.
When I installed the game I was using 53.03 and everything worked great. Well I updated to the latest drivers, had the transparent billboards, ghostly stations, etc..
I read about the problem in the forums and that it was related to the latest drivers, so I rolled back to 53.03. This only half fixed it. Originally after the update I had transparent billboards with greenbars across the bottom scrolling "this space for rent" then after rolling back, I see the anti booster ads and some odd blueish face (someone took a pic of it will have to dig that up) and also the same green bar scrolling the "This space for rent" message, always the same screens, never any wanted posters, etc..
So I guess I will wipe all nvidia drivers from my stsems, and let windows default back to its own drivers, clean it all up, and re-install 53.03 from scratch as I know they worked perfectly when i first installed EVE.
