It complicates matters because we are blue with both DMC and Ka-Tet but red with Atlas and Chaos. I am sorry if this is a hard concept for you to understand, as everything you have so far posted has been wrong, it might be simply that you are slow on the uptake. We all have our faults and I've found it in bad taste to mock someone who is short on wit.
We pay no one in isk. We pay no one in ships. We pay no one in minerals or ice products. What we build or make, we do so for ourselves.
If we thought joining one side or another in this conflict would further our interests, I can assure you our ships would be on the move. Right now, we view this as two blues entering conflict and are neutral on the matter. If it changes, we will make sure to alert the parties involved and that does not include cowardly forum alts.

I am not coming CAOD to insult DMC, there is a more distinct problem in eve than the pet alliances in the Drone regions.
It is that we have the start of something more sinister at hand. THE OVERLORD ALLIANCES!!!
So big and so strong that they can dictate the terms to others and there territory. The very coalition for which some people have been fighting for for over a year will turn, empiric. They will control your game, or seek to.
We are now on the cusp of the very beginning of the Coalition actively "petting" up their regions.
This may begin with the drone regions, in fact its been going on a very long timein RA farming areas.
Why do you think Goonswarm doesn't use the term pet anymore. Or make fun of the "pet" because...

WHY? Because very shortly, the COALITION is going into the pet farming business. You will see much of what is currently red on the territorial map start changing colour.
Other corps and alliances will start be put in and systems will be sold, not rented, but sold.

Just to clarify a few bits and tiddles in plain English:
1) ATLAS has always been blue to DMC, with the exception of about 3 days at one point.
2) ATLAS has never been blue to RA that I'm aware of.
3) Of all the people of whom we may be a pet, IRON is a new one 
Thus: it is not strange that we would help DMC, because they're our blue friends. It is not strange that RA would DD us, because we are their red friends. The DD and whatever else with RA was nothing to do with DMC, it was just some pew pew.
Apart from that, I know nothing.

The NAP that is currently in place is hashed out in such a way that many distinct alliances that I meantioned earlier lay claim to a territory that they "should" have no control in?
Example, Razor.
Many larger "Overlord" alliances have the current NAPFEST in place so that business is conducted on a profitable basis as possible so they may destruct whomever they are against atm.
They Buy comps and T2 Invention at low prices, have other mine ice for sov etc, etc.
This is happening now. Maybe not AWE corp but its happening.
There are overlords and the problem is only going to get worse.

Very valid point, but another what if......
What if the pets were to combine forces and take on their overlords. For example, DMC were to combine forces with Ka-tet and their other alliance friends joined also to overthrow the overlords.......
If the pets were defeated the overlords would then have to return to the space they controlled to make their own isk once again or quickly 'rent it out' to more pets.
If the pets defeated the overlords then the pets become the overlords or is it a return to owning your own space again.

You see, you are taking one issue and deciding it covers all the bases which is pure BS. Do large alliances like RA, GOONs and others have renters and groups they have a vested interest in? You bet. It has been that way long before the past year and will continue for longer than the current major conflict exists.
We make decisions on what action to take based on how we feel it will advance us as an alliance. Groups like RA carry weight just like an alliance like Tri or AAA carry weight. We can chose to attack an RA ally but in reality it wouldn't be any different than attacking a Tri or AAA ally. All three cases would likely be bad choices for the same reason which includes a good ass kicking as a result. As a smaller alliance your options are more limited in EVE but one option you always have is to grow stronger.
Eve has a dubious tradition of using a word like ally and forcing a word like pet on it. Smaller alliances need allies, that is just reality in 0.0. In fact, medium and large alliances need allies because there is always someone else who has them and will use them if you don't.
You can look at the current North to know how this works.

As of right now Ke-Tet posts 58 kills. DMC posts 53 losses. Pretty close numbers, 5 guys havent posted yet.
DMC posts 108 kills. Ka-tet posts 77 losses. Seems to be a slight disconnect there....seem to be missing over 30 losses.
although you bastards took out my rigged Drake a couple hours ago. Hurray for warping my pod out! Still trying to figure out why I was primaried twice when my mates were in much bigger and more valuable ships but it kept them alive longer so whatever.
