Hahaha. Right.
I'm sorry, you're not going to find any cruise Raven setup that would be acceptable in any proper fleet. Torp Raven sure, but not Cruise.

The long delay between firing and contact makes cruise missile unfavourable in fleet battles where you can expect primaries to go down in seconds.

Edited by: NereSky on 12/01/2008 10:01:19 Well just as a quick idea,
A anti support/tackler platform - armour tanked with tgt painter and SB's in mids.
Any ship can be used in fleet successfully, but it needs to fit in with the fleet dynamic - so if theres room for a anti tackler BS the Raven does quite well.

Ravens are eminently suboptimal for 'conventional' fleet fighting - at long range, the flight time on cruises means you hit nothing.
At shortrange... they can be effective. But then you've got a BS at short range, which is both easier said than done, and not always the best of tactics anyway.
Antisupport they're just about usable, but not really much more or less than a lot of smaller ships. -- Crane needs more grid 249km locking? |

Any fleet's primary will have popped well before your cruise missiles will have reached even the halfway mark. Antisupport, maybe a torp Raven, but, meh. ------------------- I nerfed my own sig To amuse you, here is my Retriever ever since its first Trinity deployment. Actually, I'd say antisupport was what precision cruises were ideal for.
But I'd still put some other ship in that particular niche, unless I -really- had no choice but to use the Raven. -- Crane needs more grid 249km locking? |

Edited by: Atsuko Ratu on 12/01/2008 17:16:15 Cruise ravens will always be subpar in reality, even with high dps on paper. You'll always do more in a gun users in larger fleet battles, even when targeting a ship that isn't primary or secondary.
Torp ravens pre-patch were awsome, because they could field multiple damps along with a pure gank setup at 100+km.

Forget range.
1. Get covops pilot to manouvre close to enemy fleet. 2. Warp to covops pilot. 3. Laugh heartily because you fitted torps, a scram, painters and a buffer tank. 4. Laugh more because you persuaded a few others to do the same. 5. *****enemy fleet at point blank range with torps while they scream "WTF" on vent. "I got soul but I'm not a soldier" |
