I'm planning to try PvP.
I want PvP with T2 Cruisers.Especially Recon. So,I traind to till Amarr Cruisers V(43%) Then I realize "Amarr Recon are nerfed!" I must choose what skill I train. But I don have any PvP experience. So I cant choose without infomation :( I want ask suggestion.
I have drone skill enough.I can use T2 Drones. And I can use T2 armor tank modules. However,I cant use T2 Turrets yet. And no missile skills.(I have no hesitate to use missiles but these are useless while PvP,right?)
I know a bit about recon. Curse is useless now, right? And gallente Recon look like banana, right?
But I dont know what about HAC and Heavy Dictors. Additionaly,I dont want ride Minmatarr ship. I know they are looks nice and goood but not my taste.
Amarr T2 Cruisers or Gallente T2 Cruisers, Which ships are worth to ride? Excellent Goods at Low Prices. |

Edited by: Meiyang Lee on 13/01/2008 12:20:46 i wouldn't call the curse useless, just a little different. You can't just NOS the heck out of someone anymore. But the neutralisers became easier to fit, and those get the bonus on the curse too. Along with the ships new larger dronebay (150m3 now) you can carry a variety of medium drones instead of just 1 pack. Also, tracking disrupters might be more useful now in certain situations than the over-nerfed dampers you'd have on an Arazu or Lachesis.

The curse is still good if you use it properly. The whole point of the Curse is to drain their capacitor while your drones destroy them.
If you are planning on training Heavy Assault Missiles I would say go for the Sacrilege. It is a wonderful ship with an efficient tank. I use the Sacrilege for pirating in low security space. It works great. Missiles in PVP are not useless in PVP, especially the ones on the Sacrilege.
I can not fly the Gallente HAC's or Recons so I can not comment on how to fly them. But I have fought them and they are very mean to fight. ---

Why not go both?
I have Gallente Cruiser, Frigate and Battleship to 5 and now I'm beginning to work on Amarr.
As for questions on Recons and HAC's
#1 the Curse is not useless, her bonuses still make her the enemy of an active tank, and seeing as most people fit a speed tank she becomes pesky to take down without a proper ship, only problem with the Curse I see is she needs a dps back up otherwise still tough to kill ships.
#2 the Arazu looks far better than the Celestis, also if you want a good tackle ship, she is still one of the best, not as good as she used to be cause she was nerfed but still great amongst pirates.
#3 HAC's I fly and Ishtar and love her, she's very versatile and easy to use. However she does lack the dps of other HAC's. Atm I am training for a Zealot which is prolly one of the most powerful HAC's at 10km with pulses she will do great damage to armour tanks and simply descimate shield tanks. Keep in mind that both races need a fair amount of cap.
#4 As for Minmatar, can't say they're the best looking ships, but for one the Vagabond with 5 turrets looks evil and the Rapier / Huginn are prolly the best Recons at this time, who doesn't like a 30 - 40km web

Yes, you can fit missiles on a curse. Depends on fitting and purpose. ---------------------------------------------

Edited by: Meiyang Lee on 14/01/2008 15:27:44 Like Lyria said before me, a curse can indeed have missile launchers, but usually you'll have all its high-slots full of NOS and Energy Neutralisers when you're flying in a gang for PvP. There's usually no room for the launchers.

I have Amarr and Gall cruiser 5. I only fly an Ishtar on the Gallente side, and a Curse/Sac on the Amarr side. I get a lot more use from Amarr cruiser5. Takes a heap of SP though, and you gotta fit your ships right.

You'll be hard-pressed to get zealot over 450 dps without maxed skils and faction gear, but good luck with that.
Incidentally, you mentioned the ishtar is lacking DPS relative to other HACs... but... Doesn't it match most HACs for damage, except the deimos and the (0km, hail-using) Vaga? ( ) 475 dps from drones is pretty high DPS. Very hard to get the zealot over that, Sac can maybe match it, dunno about Cerb / Eagle but I doubt they can get that close to 500.
I was under the impression that the Ishtar was quite good for damage - or am I imagining things? __________________________________

Go gallente 5 before its too late and you are stuck with cr5 only for the sac. All other amarrian cruisers are mediocre at best. None of them is king of anything.

TBH, the Zealot is the least skill intensive HAC. With Liang, I'm closer to a fully skilled Zealot than I am a fully skilled Ishtar - and I'm *FLYING* an Ishtar at this very moment (and have Amarr Frigate 1).
I'm 118 days right now from a fully functional Zealot with all the bells and whistles, including Controlled Bursts 5, Rapid Firing 5, Surgical Strike 5, etc etc etc.
I've still got over 100 days in just drone training on the Ishtar (neglecting all the other bells and whistles) and still have 170 days left on the Ishtar plan, and that's going for the drone skills at four.
170 days to get the Ishtar to the same level I could get the Zealot at in 118 days... and I don't fly the Zealot yet.

I suppose, but aren't there as many support drone skills as there are gunnery skills, and they're mostly all of the same rank (most at rank 2, some at rank 5?) I think the training is so long because most people tend to start off with a reasonable chunk of gunnery skills and better Perception than Memory, so they tend not to have as good drone skills or as easy a time as training drones.
I'm like 80 days from - basically - a fully skilled ishtar... 57 days for drone skills (really good ones, though not perfect) and 23 days for Gall Cruiser V. or something.
Granted the Zealot is the least skill-intensive HAC because you need only guns, cap, and tank, whereas other HACs need that plus drones, or missiles, or something. Still, that's a separate issue aside from how much damage they do, which was my question in the first place =) __________________________________

Actually, you should try looking at in-eve at my skillset - I have no gunnery skills to speak of. I think I have Gunnery 5, WU5, AWU4, Sm/Med Hybrids 4 as my gunnery skills. OTOH, I've already got 2.5M SP in drones. I have Amarr Frigate 1, and Gallente Cruiser 5. I'm *STILL* significantly closer to a fully skilled Zealot than Ishtar.
The Zealot is quite simply vastly easier to skill for than the Ishtar (and Vagabond etc). That's actually one of the reasons I'd rather see the Zealot get a fifth turret than a drone bay - because it "throws a bone" to the newer Amarr players.
Also, there's a certain amount of versatility and specialization to be expected from an additional four months of training time for the Ishtar versus the Zealot. Perhaps not as wide as it is now though (because I certainly do support a fifth turret on the Zealot).
