[1] I have a supported card, ATI Radeon 9700 Pro. Enabling two monitors changes the res to 320x200. Tried editing prefs, changing fullscreen, widescreen, interlace. All have same problem. Game is unplayable in this state, and must revert to single monitor in the prefs file (desktopSetup=1). A log entry occurs with this error: File created 2003.06.11 14:42:30 An exception has occurred. It has been logged in the log server as exception #3 An exception has occurred. [3] You will have to change your video card settings to horizontal span before changing the in-game settings. |

[5] Thanks Gallente - I'm sure this is the solution - but, I can't find this option, anywhere in my Windows display properties, the custom ATI display tabs, or in the HydraVision properties. Can you point me in the right direction? |

[7] I also had same problem,,and horizontal span IS being used..(i drag stuff from left to right to move between monitors). not only did it not work..but i had to manually edit the freaking cfg files to get it back to normal (in 320 mode you cannot access all the video options) |

[11] So, does anyone know how to enable span mode on the ATI 9700 Pro, where the desktop background is split in half, and not copied in full, to the other monitor? I simply can't figure it out. |

[17] Can a dev at least mention in a blog whether there are any plans to fix this in the near-to-medium timeframe, or if we should just not even worry about it? Would also be interesting to know if the 320x240 bug is in Eve or in DirectX. Speak up devs! :) |

Rubbish. Open your ATI Catalyst Control Center (You DID install this, right?) and then choose Basic mode. Click Next. On the next screen, it'll ask if you want to set up your display configuration. Click Go. Next screen. Choose your primary and secondary monitors (primary being the far left monitor, of course.) Click Next. On this page, it gives you three options - Extended Desktop, Clone and Horizontal Stretch. Choose Horizontal Stretch. Click Next. Confirm your settings and you're done. One big desktop over two monitors! Note - If you are using two monitors of different capabilities, The one with the smallest capabilites is the one both will follow. So, if your game is only at a really small resolution, check this out before you start freaking out. Are you using an ancient second monitor? |
