So this'll differ from the other RA vs drone region threads in that I just wanna focus on the political maneuvers and not the parties involved.
1) A bunch of alliances create a NAP until conditions are met.
2) When conditions are almost met, some drama happens and one alliance makes a political blunder and allies with enemies of the greater NAP'd alliance, against a member of that greater NAP'd alliance. The reasons for this sound good, but technically a very bad move, breaking the NAP.
3) Diplomacy failing (eve players kinda suck at diplomacy), or simply both parties not being interested in diplomatic resolution, the alliance breaking the NAP is declared KOS. (kill on sight, not knights of suck)
4) Another alliance senses a threat of the NAPs in the entire region falling apart, as NAPs are delicate things that require a diplomatic touch, something that was very clearly not being applied in this happening. This alliance's leader gives a clear warning to the other alliances to keep fleets out of their sovereign space, or it would be considered a hostile act.
5) The following day, the same alliance that declares KOS on the alliance that broke the NAP, has a large fleet in the sovereign space the NAP'd alliance that warned against such a presence.
6) Said alliance says GTFO or we'll attack.
7) Forums engulf in flames saying that 6 was such a huge mistake, stupid, and jump at the idea of declaring their NAP annulled.
Ok, so, we all know which party is which.
We all know smashkill and DMC are proper ******.
But can we at least get real, be honest for a minute.
Is RA not being an arrogant aggressor here, and is GS not behaving like mindless pets right now?
I know some of you forum *****s are ok with being the badguys of eve, which is good, at least you own up to it. But to those of you in denial, own up to the fact that these actions smack of boblike arrogance and betrayal.

You know, by far this post has put everything in most perspective. Eve's a game, and we play it for fun. How much fun would it be if all it was was a progress of up and up and up? Not much. Real excitement comes from gain and loss. You can't revel in victory without having tasted defeat.
If RA wants the play the bad guys, sure, cool, let them. At least it shakes the old order up, makes for some interesting pew-pew and gives excitement to the game. I can't agree with the tactics they used to start pew-pew, but its whats expected of the quintessential "Bad Guy".
So as much as my alliance mates might flame me for it, Hats of to RA for providing some very very interesting (albeit at times frustrating!) Pew-Pew and drama to make EVE be about something other then sucking Veld!

i hate it when people break my nap. theres this guy that comes in with a leaf blower every saturday morning to clear the leaves off the parking lot of the building next door. he wears ear protection and goes to town. sure enough, nap broken.

NAPs are made to be broken. Both sides make them fully intending to break them when the time is right. Its just a question of who becomes "ready" first.
