If you warp the falcon out it becomes useless for a pretty long time. Plus it'll be insta primary once it hits the field again.
With the tier 3 bcs everywhere I've been seeing a whole lot more falcon killmails. A short range gun tier 3 only needs to get within 70km to kick a falcon off, and a sniper one can blast it away from pretty much anywhere on grid.
I dunno, the falcon seems like it exists almost purely to gank solo roamers now. I wish they'd change the mechanic but I guess this is a lot better now than the old days of 200km+ jams. |

Dual ECCM vaga works a treat. Let them get one jam on you to give them a sense of security and let you get close enough to bbq them. |

Tell me about this falcon who's jamming optimal is greater than the range of an arty nado. |

Let's see, there were a couple...
Once upon a time there was this guy in a Falcon. Warping onto grid he noticed that among the other WTs was an arty nado. So he stayed cloaked.
Once upon a time there was this other guy in a Falcon. Warping onto grid he noticed that among the other WTs was an arty nado. So he decloaked and slapped the nado in the face with a TD loaded with optimal range disruption script. Then he put one red jam + one off-race jam on it just for fun whilst the rest of his fleet killed the nado. To be extra safe, he aligned before he decloaked. The nado managed to get a shot off, despite the tracks and jams, but the falcon simply warped away because it had a LSE. http://eveprincessbride.wordpress.com/ |

I recommend the kitsune. You'll lock faster than the falcon and jam it before it can jam you. I'd rather die in battle against a man who will lie to me, than for a man who will lie to me. |

Most ECM pilots warp in at range due to the instadeath of being in close. While it won't kill them dampening for lock range can nullify them as a problem.
Even a maulus that can warp in at range and damp the falcon's lock range way down can negate it for a long time. Unlike jamming damps never fail. The real trick is finding the pilot willing to volunteer for the completely inglorious, if pivotal, task of maulus pilot. |

An Alpha Maelstrom. Failing that, more Alpha Maelstroms. Continue adding Maelstroms until the Maelstrom:Falcon ratio reaches infinity. This answer is suitable for a wide range of issues. There are few problems in the game that a large fleet of Alpha Maelstroms cannot solve. |

Alpha snipe is the standard approach.
Here's an out-of-the-box idea.... what about a drone sniping Ishtar? Damp/paint and snipe with drones to either force the falcon in closer (too close) or make it hover around outside of it's locking range like a neutered dog. The Ishtar doesn't have great dps but it's got good tank and good range with drones and it's easily as quick as a falcon. Worst case, the falcon jams the Ishtar and the rest of the fleet can go about it's job.
Seems to me that if you're having trouble with enemies using falcons/scorpions/rooks against your logis that throwing in a few ishtars in the logi-group would be good enough to neutralize that threat and it would leave the alpha ships free to shoot... well ... enemy logi's instead of enemy ECM.
Just a thought.

If it wasn't for the ludicrously long targeting range of the falcon I'd say the Arazu would be the perfect counter - sensor damp, long point, slow death.
Doubt if it would happen though... sensor damps need love. |

arty fit machariels, they alpha that **** :3

Fof, Alpha, ECCM, Neuts, Possibly drones if you hug the falcon. Bombs can also work, I think it's what 2 or 3 bombs to kill one or more falcons? |
