A simple idea: if you get disconnected or log off, any drones you are currently controlling return to the ship before it warps away.
My motivation for suggesting this is fairly selfish, yes; I get disconnected a lot, and usually, by the time I've reconnected and warped back to a fight, all my drones are popped. This isn't a big deal with T1 drones, but T2s are reasonably expensive and losing them due to hardware/software failure is decidedly inconvenient.
I'd be perfectly fine with the ship sticking around until the drones are back. If I warp off on purpose and forget to recall them, I think I deserve to lose my drones. But losing 5 - 15 million isk every time I get dropped during a fight gets tiresome, and I don't see how adding an auto-return mechanism would be unbalancing. After all, if your ship is smart enough to warp off when its pilot goes unconscious, why isn't it smart enough to autorecall its drones first?

I certainly wouldn't even mind an autorecall on any warp sequence.. don't delay the warp, but give the drones a recall order when the warp order goes out. While it is aligning and acellerating, the drones should be trying to get home.. if close enough, and a slow enough warper, a few might get back in time.

Yea great idea, losing your drone because of a disconnect issue shouldn't append.
It append to me and ppl i know often enough to get sick of it.
Plz fix that.

Good idea, perhaps a tick-box in drone options to determine if the emergency warp waits for the drones or not.
In either case drones should at least try to get back to the ship before a warp out.

I would hate to be in pvp and not warp off due to drones coming back to me, id rather take the loss. if this is implemented, you should be able to toggle the function on or off. Loosing drones is a pain, but if i'm in a huge battle, being dead in the water because i've disconnected, is infinitely worse. I'd rather leave the drones, screw um.
It is a rather good idea, if the player can control it.

I came back from one CTD to find my drones had completed the mission. Not that I wouldn't support them returning when ship is emer warping out for disconnect...

When warping out the drones should auto recall but I don't think it is a good idea to hold up on the warp If the log-off was truley accidental then you have a chance of being killed if your ship lingers too long.
For me its a case of warp first and save the drones if they are close enough and fast enough to dock before I leave. If not: **** 'em. Priority one is ME

Since I literally just spent a few minutes after a disconnect having to go back and fetch my drones, I have to say /signed
There's got to be a solution to this that will work out for everyone.

Something else that I've noticed and run afoul of a few times.... Initiate warp on a slow ship, then recall drones while aligning. They won't recall unless you stop the current warp attempt, then recall, then re-initiate warp. (almost lost a Myrmidion to that when VETO came a-callin)
