Idea: Give them more damage, character and a role. Remove resistance bonus as its useless, replace with something useful.

So its simple, they will have good dps, OK tanks with a little bit more edge if they use overloading. They become more like predecessors to heavy assualt ships, and will have a good use.

Then I read your proposed Retribution change - taking off one high slot, adding a med slot (I'm OK with this), but removing the resists and instead adding a 25% ROF bonus? That's a bit crap. So it's still slow, does less DPS than a t1 cruiser, but now has the tank of a T1 frigate? The ship transformed from a handy missioning/npcing ship to totally useless in both PVP and PVE.

How about a role bonus: +100% to afterburner velocity bonus?
Their problem is that they are sluggish like cruisers but fail to make up for it with anything. They have frigate hitpoints but can't use speed to their advantage which frigates rely on. Therefore while they are good against other frigates, they too easily get killed by bigger ships, which discourages their use heavily.
An afterburner bonus would give them enough speed and low enough sig to have enough protection from bigger ships so that they can be useful in their anti-frigate role. Their relatively low damage output would still make sure they wouldn't simply be better than cruisers and they would still not go anywhere near as fast as interceptors. --- CEO

Your ideas are good, but I still can't see them having a different role to a HAC.
I'd like-
Role Bonus: 100% bonus to primary weapon type damage. +50% agility. -25% mass. +25% cap (or -25% recharge time)
Turn them into relatively fragile, but nutty little things that pack one hell of a punch, faster but still much slower than intys. I don't think a frig-sized craft will ever be overpowered, might make them more fun though.

Overall I like the idea, but your proposed changes to the gallente AFs in particular seem to ignore 2 things:
1. The Enyo NEEDS a falloff bonus, it really does
2. The Ishkur's bandwidth was nerfed for a reason, there was no reason for that ship to be able to field medium drones. It was ridiculously overpowered, and you want that back?

To clear things up, yes I did mean keep the current resists and replace it from a bonus to just being there.
Also the enyo, do you know that the falloff bonus isnt really much help on small guns?
And I took off a turret on the Ishkur, thats why I give it back the possibility of using a few mediums. The ishtar can use 5 heavies and thats a t2 cruiser eh?
And I forgot to mention have their agility increased, as well as sig radius decreased to thier t1 counterparts.

Seems cool but change all RoF bonuses to damage bonuses... CCP won't have RoF bonuses on small turrets because they create too much lag to have stuff firing that quickly. __________________________________

I'd keep the current slot layout to be honest; sure, it makes her unviable as a solo ship, but that's one thing that makes her special; I'd rather have her get a fifth turret.

Why only a kinetic damage bonus ? The Vengeance is bonused on all damage types, and so should the Hawk as the ultimate missile AF.

Same as the Retribution - the slot layout is one of the defining elements of this ship; also, you'd take away a good part of its damage, which is really what makes the Enyo shine. As for the web resistance bonus, I'd up that to, say, 5% per level.

I thought about bandwidth and repair bonuses too; to be honest, she should either be able to field a full flight of mediums or get hitpoint and damage bonuses like the other drone ships. Compared to the Ishkur's current simple extra spare drone bonus, the Ishtar's drone bonuses are insane - or the Ishkur's insanely low. Don't like the slot layout change again - giving her a tanking bonus and gimping her ability to actually fit a tank doesn't seem to make much sense. If she's to get 4 mids, I'd rather make it 3-4-3, as the drones should make up for that additional high.

Do you really mean 15% falloff bonus per level ? Not that I wouldn't like it, but it would give her an insane range for ACs. The shield hp bonus is okay if it translates well enough into an improved shield recharge rate.

- Here is where the racial sets in, ships like drakes, caracals, cerberus and nighthawks all have kinetic damage bonus. Remember the vengeance as stated in the Khanid MK2 changes are rockets only. Hawk gets to choose between rockets or standard while holding a cap stable, 5 med slot tank.
- Where do I take away the damage btw? Also you misunderstood the webbing bonus, the bonus is intended for its own webs, so say level 5 assualt ships with t2 web would give a -99% webber, same as the Kronos and Paladin.
- First off I apologize for making a typing error, I was meant to propose 2-4-4 now 4-4-2. So thats 2 highs, 4 meds and 4 lows. Also if I have worked it out correctly, it will be able to use 2 small nos/neut, MWD, web, scram, small injector, 2 reps, EANM and a damage control. This basically gives it the versatilty of the usual drone boats with a few meds, apart from the vexor of course.
I also agree with the point that even my proposal doesnt give the Ishkur as much damage as it should get, but it will get roughly 250 dps with average skills and 2 blasters in its highs, that and 4 meds and 4 lows should be pretty balanced.
- A lot of people use the Wolf with autocannons too, a falloff bonus will benefit both them and artillery, basically allowing it versatility to go either platform.
- I did mean 15% because the falloff on small guns if very weak, even with barrage + 200mm AC II. 15% can be justified in this aspect I think, turning the Jag into a small Vaga without a speed bonus, but with more shield HP buffer, allowing for a better survivability chance, soon as the Jag will have to come in web range to deal any sort of reasonable dps, even with 75% falloff.
- The idea behind the overloading bonus if simply to allow people with high skills to still want to use one and find them useful. The ship changes will still be very good even without the role bonus supplied, so the role does not exactly put thier performance down to the use of it, it will just be there, as an option.

IMO the new bonus for the caldari ships are all wrong - and the lock range on the harpy is silly. If however, it where a bonus, then that would make sense (making it a more pointed sniping frigate, like a well armored catalyst). -------

I proposed a lock range increase because of the recent sensor booster nerf which I felt was unfair on sniping ships such as the Harpy.

Because the vengeance only gets to fit rocket launchers bonused but the harpy can pick between std launcher and rocket. Just like the crow gets kin bonus and can pick between long and short range weaponry and compare with malediction that only can get bonused rockets but all dmg types. Its a fair trade and inline with the rest of the "system".

retri: like the bonuses, don't like the slot change. 5-1-5 with 5 turrets and the current bonuses, the proposed CPU addition and 10 more grid
caldari lineup: shield boost and cap ammount swapped to a 25% resistance bonus from caldari frig to both ships.
gallente lineup: the enyo as it is is ok-ish, however I would make him into a blasterboat and give a falloff bonus instead. as for the ishkur, instead BW bonus, a +10% drone speed bonus please. Love the layout however
Minmatar layout: atm they are pretty ok, altho the only thing that would be changed is the range bonuses. Optimal for the wolf and falloff for the jag. Wolf should get dual damage bonuses from the minmatar frig (making the range bonus an AF bonus), but the jag with that shield HP bonus is nice. layout as it is now should remain.
and if you're giving them that role bonus (good one aswell), yes, an agility boost is in order. ---

These are good ideas for a AF fix. There have been many of these kinds of threads about the AFs. I don't think CCP is ignoring them, but they seem to have some plan for the AFs that they don't want to talk about. Some communication would be nice from CCP.

I really like the idea of giving the Wolf/Jaguar an afterburner bonus that doesn't apply to MWDs. Something along the lines of say 25% per level of Assault Frigate Skill. that would put them in the speed range of a meta 1 MWD when using a T2 or good named AB without the sig penalty. they would still be faster using T2 or named MWDs of course, but absolute speed isn't the point - efficient and sustainable speed is. more effective use of afterburner would also free up power and cpu grid for other uses: heavier guns, tanking, etc.
I don't know much about the other AFs - dont fly them - but as it stands now I really have no use for the min AFs outside of say L2 missions, where a cruiser does just as well or better.
come to think of it, I like this bonus for all the minmatar combat ship classes, including T1, though I wouldn't give all of them quite as much of a bonus - perhaps 10-15%/level base for T1 plus an additional role bonus for T2... they are supposed to be the best at going fast after all.

i agree with the enyo needing a 3rd mid slot, but dropping a hi slot...no so much.
Other than that i think the overheating bonus (while intriguing) maybe be a little too skill intensive for an already skill intensive ship. The other bonii are cool too.
I have to agree with getting a bonus to AB's though, since these ships are already slow as hell and the best defense is its size. -

Wolf extra range bonus is stupid, jack of all trades ships never work as they're poor at everything instead of good at one thing and terrible at others so theyre always beaten by specific ships.
Jag bonuses are okish but 15% falloff apart from being out of balance with all other range bonuses wont allow it to operate like a vagabond anyway. Shield buffer is ok but basically forces the ship to fit a shield extender limiting its versatility (but as i said this isnt too much of a problem.
Im just concentrating on your minmatar proposals as those are the ships im familiar with but in all honesty im glad you're not a dev as your ideas are frankly crap.

Honestly, outside of the agility bonus proposed, I'm not really seeing anything that's helping just yet.
1. The Vengeance is still kind of meh with that setup. 10% to rocket damage per level is more on par with what kind of damage it needs to deal (It's a baby Sacrilege). 2. I like the idea of a 2nd midslot on the Retribution, but at that cost, it's not worth it. 2. Why have a 5% hybrid damage bonus on the Ishkur if you're talking about removing a hardpoint? 3. Enyo without the 5th high slot is useless, no matter what you do with the webby and MWD. Enyo with a 3rd midslot is overpowered (even with a hi-slot removed). There's just no balance for this ship unless they make it a 4 missle point ACTUAL RODEN ship 'favors missles over drones'. CCP messed up this ship from its' inception, just like they messed up the Phobos. Roden = missles. Since Gallente pretty much don't have any, why didn't they live up to the Roden storyline and actually do that? It boggles the mind... 4. "ROLE BONUS for ALL of these ships: 50% Reduction in heat damage taken by overloading, and 50% increased overloading effect on weapons." If you're not going to apply it (effect) across the board to accommodate all slots, then you've effectively done nothing to help tech 2 frigates. TBH overloading weapons isn't really going to help with anything other than killing other frigates. An overheating bonus to other slots will what an AF will need to give it a razor edge (MWD, Web, Scram, everything for tank, etc).
Good ideas, but please refine them a bit. It's going to be difficult to make everyone happy.

The only thing the Assault Ships need, is speed and a lot of it. They are all slow, and if you fit a MWD you severely gimp the ship. Their agility has always been pretty crappy. The DPS of them all, I feel is sufficient, it's just they can barely move.

AF's don't need to be made over-powered just minor tweaks. A un-webable Wolf/Jag for me would be fun tell it got nerfed. Mini-Commandship would be a nice tweak for small gangs but doesn't solve the AFs other problems.
