Has anyone noticed the in-game music, there is a track named "Nouvelle Revenor Hero" that sounds like an ambient remake of Nine Inch Nails' "In a Warm Place" ?
I just thought it was odd when I first heard it I was thinking to myself "Where have I heard this before ? I KNOW this song !"

Well, someone has to do it, and if no one else is going to step up to the plate, it may as well be me...
"EVE has sound?"
Never noticed--most of the "soundtrack" pretty generic, and I would rather listen to my own music library while playing.

Much of the soundtrack is quite bland, but this song, being a cover of Nine Inch Nails, actually interested me. If Eve really wanted to spice up the soundtrack, they would hire Robyn Miller and Jack Wall (Makers of the Myst Soundtracks)

Tbh RealX and JunkieXL make enough music to keep me happy in EVE as it is

Wow, i love when people feel the need to post this on every thread that has to do with in game sound. It doesnt help the discussion at all and just affirms that you are a moron. Good job.

I'm aware Trent Reznor told his fans to steal his music, but I dont think he meant that you do it so blantly :P

Ok, edit, that folder its in is among a list of a hell of alot of other music which I'm pretty sure isn't free.
I would fine a free source, and not put CCP in a postion they should not be in.

I've noticed this before and thought it was great. One of my favorite songs tbh. If you go to the nin.remix site they have it (A Warm Place) for download under "The Downward Spiral Instrumental." Also some rare/unreleased stuff. Anyway, back to EVE, I actually enjoy the ambient music from time to time and added the whole list of music to my iTunes. --- lol.. I messed up.

Edited by: Faydelm on 16/01/2008 04:07:42 The only things those songs have in common is that they are ambient electronic other than that nothing at all. Nouvelle Rouvenor Hero has 2 riffs that repeat over and over again, A Warm Place has an intro, middle section, bridge and outro. The melodies are completely different and they use completely different synth sounds...

Ugh, don't be a Debbie Downer. The songs are alike not identical. The melody is a lot like the melody in A Warm Place. Now please adjust your seat, it's obviously disturbed your inner equilibrium. --- lol.. I messed up.

Below the Asteroids, Minmatar Rebel Alliance, Theme of the Universe and the Combat+Racial soundtracks (hear them when you enter deadspace, I forget the names) are pretty good. Rest are rather bland...
not that I have sound on or anything

sigh... there is so much great music in eve.
a lot of people joined in the 1st days based on music alone.
but then they nerfed the jukebox and took out the best 20 tracks... WHY CCP WHY!!!!

Is there any way to point the jukebox to another folder so I can play my own music through it ? (I know it is asking a bit much)

There may be a way to do it - but you're not allowed to (EULA violation or some such)
Although unlikely that the EVE track is based on 'A Warm Place' it would be a nice irony given 'A Warm Place' is based on A David Bowie track, 'Crystal Japan' i think -------------------------------------------------- brakespear - the lowest common denominator |

Did ya know that
-Sonic the Hedgehog 2's "Casino Night Zone" music sounds suspiciously like Paula Abdul's "Straight Up" -Actraiser's "Bloodpool/Harmonious Music" theme sounds suspiciously like the intro to Richard Marx's "Hazard" -Phantasy Star 2's "Motavia Overworld Field" music sounds suspiciously like the bridge in John Mayer's "No Such Thing"
I'm sure there's plenty more of these coincidences. Creativity, after all, is the art of hiding your resources.
(note: If we're nominating composers, I have to go with Simon Boswell, who did the remarkable techno soundtrack to Burn:Cycle)

The very next line in my post (the one you didn't quote) also stated:
Quote:

Which I thought was constructive, even if it didn't specifically answer to the OP's question. Meanwhile, all you contributed to the thread was calling me a moron.
And I still stand by my original statement that the soundtrack is pretty generic, and I've never noticed that one particular track sounds like NiN.
And for even more value added to this thread, I'll state that it would be wonderful if you could actually permanently turn off the jukebox, instead of merely turning the volume down to zero.
Oh, and for the record, I do generally have sound on in EVE, though I keep it turned down pretty low and my music usually drowns it out.
