Celestal	Posted - 2008.02.04 03:53:00 - [23] I am really not suprised he lost this I was scouting some lo sec pos to see what i could gain from them local sparks up so I go take a look in my recon he dropped this nyx on 5-6 ships , biggest of which was a command ship , rest were 1 bc + cruisers/smaller . he lost his vaga + crow support ( may have been 1 other ship in support ) for all this hassle he killed 1 bc if he had stayed in that local another 5-10 minuts he wuda lost his nyx , trust me My impression was a noob who has just got in a mom , has no clue about current game mechanics regarding mom ships especially in low sec . one way or another that nyx was not going to be around much longer

I've gotta give him props for flying the Nyx in losec even after the advent of HICs, but at least I can breathe easier knowing that I can call in friends that can kill a Thanatos without resorting to merc corps. Not having a killmail doesnt change that quite simply. We play eve-online not killboard-online. We could have waited longer to gather more ships or wake more people up but we had enough to take it down within 10 minutes and were reasonably sure it wasn't a trap. It was then just a matter of waiting for a hic to travel up to the system in question. Removing a pirate Nyx from Amarr space is far more important to CVA than waiting long enough to gather enough people to guarantee a killmail and having the Nyx escape. The same call will be made again and again.
